  1. Has anyone worked at Joe DiMaggio, Nicklaus or Baptist Hospital for pediatrics? I'm considering leaving my job and looking to apply to these hospitals but I am unsure which would be best. I will only have 6 months of experience as a new grad. My goal is to work in pediatrics or L&D. But L&D is much more competitive so that will be difficult. Any opinions are welcome. Thank you!
  2. Is this for the new grad nurse residency?
  3. There are no pts on vents. The telemetry floor is split into stepdown pts and medsurg. You need special training for the stepdown pts so they don't give those to new grads right away until after 6months of experience. There's a tech 24 hrs a day looking at the monitors so you do not have to analyze the rhythm. It's a regular cardiac floor.
  4. Congrats! I chose UM for the pay and because I heard good things about them. NCH pays less and there’s also less opportunity for growth because nurses who work there stay there for years. I also did not like the management. But if your highly interested in pediatrics then you should choose NCH because UM unfortunately does not have a pediatrics unit.
  5. Nevermind ? It began working today.
  6. Hi! ? Have you tried to access the ulearn website to see the courses & modules we have to complete? I keep receiving a sign on error every time I try to access it. I’m just curious to see if I’m not the only one. I thought maybe they either haven’t set it up or we don’t have access until later on this week.
  7. Thank you for reaching out! Yes, I received them all. So excited! Enjoy your weekend as well! ?
  8. Oh okay, so we've received the same information so far. ?
  9. Maybe they will validate our ticket? Considering it's the first week. But I don't think we will go to the hospital the first week. The last onboarding information I completed was setting up payroll & the insurance. I was told we will receive an email today or tomorrow in regards to orientation. I bought hunter green scrubs because that's what I've seen all the nurses/staff wear. Also, the picture day for our IDs is on Friday and the dress code will be business casual. I'm waiting on further news as well.
  10. Hey! I haven't looked into the parking yet. I might be parking at the metro station & taking the metrorail to the hospital. What about you? I saw the parking rates and it's expensive.
  11. LOL ? We're you able to set up your work email?
  12. Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it! I actually received the emails today from HR for the payroll, benefits, etc. My recruiter seems annoyed of all my emails & calls so I gave up. LOL I’ll keep you posted as well if I find any more details.
  13. @Mari BSN RN Hey! Were you able to find out anything in regards to orientation or the dress code? The recruiter informed me that I will probably receive an email by Thursday or Friday in regards to orientation. Did you complete the physical, drug test, & fingerprints? Just curious to see if that is what the email you received yesterday was in regards to. Because I completed those tasks about 1-2 weeks ago and they told me that the next upcoming emails ill be receiving are for orientation, not for any other onboarding tasks. But I haven't received anything in regards to creating a CaneID so I'm confused.
  14. No, I haven't received anything yet. ? I was just about to email the recruiter. I guess ill wait until the end of the day for the onboarding email. Yes, definitely! That's a good idea ill do that too.
