  1. I took my LPN boards in Jan '05...i had just come down with the flu the night before and had a temp of 102 but insisted on taking my boards. I had ALL sorts of questions...204 questions at that! here in NY we have those fill in the blank and check all that apply.... those are nerve wrecking.:uhoh21: I found out 2 weeks later i passed. I always felt that even in high school, if you walked out of a test thinking the utmost worst, chances are you did just fine. have faith. :)
  2. catheterization is nothing. Just bring another expierienced nurse with you and have him/her walk you through it. It always helps if someone, for women, holds the labia apart for you so you can see the urethral opening. Also, make sure patient's knees are up so the entire perineal area is exposed. it'll take a few attempts/times but you'll get it. :)
  3. I know in NY, you have to get certified through the LTC facility you are employed at to draw or start an IV.
  4. Im currently an LPN in Buffalo, NY and am in the process of moving to Tampa, FL. Here, i make $15.25/hr and have been licensed 1 year. What is a typical rate for LPNs in Tampa, FL??
