CPNE ... What is so Horrific/Difficult about it ... ?
Well, it's been about 6 months ... any new information to share here? Had the CPNE changed much since my original post 2 years ago? :)

Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
Thanks! It's funny then that the instantcert.com practice exams are FITB. Wonder why they did it like that?

Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
Is the CLEP test like the sample exams (ie: Fill in the Blank) or is it multiple choice?

Lisa Arends study guides
Where is this CD available from?

Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
Thank you! I just checked out their site but only found a match for 'Theories of Human Development' ... is that what you used for the Lifespan/Human Growth CLEP?
-
Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
Did you use the Peterson's General Guide, or did you just go with their (3) practice tests? I didn't find anything specific to Human Grown other than the practice exams?

Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
Thanks! I think I'm stuck with a new curriculum so I need to weight this out. I might not have a choice in the matter.

Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
Thank you again! One more question: When you suggest petersons and intacert, is that an 'and' or an 'or' ? ie: should I use both, or is either one just fine? :)

Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
Thank you and understood! What other courses can be CLEP'd? And is there a difference between instacert.com and instantcert.com ? And when you suggest petersons and intacert, is that an 'and' or an 'or' ? ie: should I use both, or is either one just fine? :)

Human Growth and Development CLEP vs. Lifespan ...
I came across a reference that the CLEP for Human Growth and Development is an easier path than the Lifespan examination. Can anyone recommend any study guides for this CLEP? I've come across REA and Passyourclass so far ... if anyone has any opinions on these or others, I would love to hear them. Thanks!

ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
Thank you very much! Can you provide a PM with Kim Cook's contact information? Also, if I take tests at EC for General Education (Life Span, Microbiology, etc), can those be transferred into ISU? What is ATI? Are they like a Pearson Vue? I've also seen quite a few references to DANTES -- what exactly is that? Is that also like a Pearson Vue? What is the average length of a term? 8 weeks? 16 weeks? If I only take a class at a time, a 16 week semester would likely mean it would take me several decades to finish an LPN - BSN Track, no?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
Thanks! Yes, I posted but no responses yet. Florida looks like it's on the list, so I should be okay. I'm very curious as to how a sample class works with them (testing, assignments, period, etc)?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
Is EC's BSN Program new? I thought the only way to do the BSN was through ISU?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
Ahhh! So ISU should take longer because it cannot be done at my pace ... it's based on an X Week Semester? How are exams handled online with ISU? Or are those taken through Pearson Vue or some other testing center?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
I like the fact that I can do clinicals locally with ISU versus having to take a CPNE with Excelsior out of state. Are ISU's classes the same as with EC? ie: You get a Study Guide, take at your own pace, and then just call Pearsue Vue to take a test at a local center?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
I'm in Florida, so it looks like both EC and ISU are accepted. My goal really is the BSN, so to understand, EC to RN and work as I go at a higher pay scale for the BSN versus working at the LPN scale to get the BSN directly from ISU?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
Instead of transfering, could I do EC to RN, and then once I have the RN, use ISU to go RN to BSN? So with EC, I can do LPN to RN, and then RN to BSN. With ISU, I can go directly from LPN to BSN? Are the tests the same with each? ie: Visit Pearson Vue for testing, etc? Is ISU then a quicker path to the BSN? I've seen a lot of discussions here on the forums regarding Excelsior, but not much traffic with regard to ISU. I'm just trying to figure out why that is?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
Hmmm ... so if I need to take General Credits like the ones I'm taking now, it's better to do those at EC and transfer them in to ISU later? Does EC do BSN? or are they RN only?
-
ISU or Excelsior? Pros and Cons ... ?
Hello, I am an LPN currently enrolled in EC and am working towards my first exam (Lifespan Development). Since I have only just started, I was looking into ISU as well but wanted to see what the pro's and con's of each were? I understand you need to pass a CPNE with EC, but clinicals are Local with ISU. Is there a major cost difference? Are the classes the same? I understand both are approved in Florida. Do they both off 'on your own pace' classes? Any thoughts or suggestions from attendees of either would be great. Thank you in advance!

Indiana State University
How does this program differ from Excelsior? I understood EC was cheaper because you could do the general stuff through them and then just take the RN - BSN through ISU. Is that correct? What are some of the other differences?

Passed LIFE SPAN DEV PSYCH
Thank you! I found the EC Study Guide to be pretty drawn out; it basically suggests you read the text cover to cover. How indepth does one need to go into each topic to get through the EC Exams?
-
Passed LIFE SPAN DEV PSYCH
I noticed a reference to EC Exams ... what are those?
-
Passed LIFE SPAN DEV PSYCH
Congratulations! I'm studying for this class too. It seems like an awful lot of material though ... did you read the text cover to cover?

Excelsior and Guided Learning Packages ...
Hello, I am enrolled in Excelsior College and had considered using The College Network. Due to the cost of their guides, I elected to just enroll directly as I was under the impression that I could just purchase the guides and materials that I needed individually. Well, I just received my first envelope with my first class information. I went to the Excelsior Bookstore and they have a Guided Learning Package that includes the Recommended Book, the Study Guide for said book, and an Excelsior-Spiral-Bound Guide. Is there any way to get that Excelsior-Spiral-Bound Guide for Free/Download? The reason I ask is because if I buy just the Recommended Books via other sources, I can get them for like half price! On that note, does anyone have any opinions on the 'Other Recommended Resources'? Or should I just stick to the primary recommendations?

distance LPN courses in PA
Deaconess requires travel every semester and self-scheduled Clinicals, no?
