  1. You have 4 weeks from the start of your residency. Personally I believe it’s best to take the exam prior to the start of the residency. Employment is contingent on passing.
  2. The residency is a full time employment with benefits. The residency training ranges from 14 weeks to 20 weeks depending on the department. Upon passing and completing the residency you get promoted from nurse resident to RN 1. I’m in the ICU residency currently. We finish on June 22nd. But I do anywhere from 36-40 hrs a week. This isn’t a part time job.
  3. Yes I am. I’ve worked at parkland since 2018. Started as a tech and am now doing my residency. I personally love parkland and the population we provide care to. In terms of starting residency pay it slightly less than other hospitals. However the experience and the education we acquire is amazing. The program layout is very supportive for new grads. Happy to answer any questions I can.
  4. Good luck to all of y’all as you embark on this journey. I know it can be nerve wrecking the wait and the interview process. You guy got this! -current nurse resident
  5. Yes I used about 2 recommendation letters.
  6. I uploaded mine when I applied however it was not a requirement. We were always encouraged to request them in nursing school thats why I had mine. My clinical preceptors actually wrote most of my letters, I felt they knew me quite well. Sorry hope that helps.
  7. Awesome!! I just sent request too!!
  8. They may still be calling.. you never know. Also has anoyone gotten a call about L&D?
  9. Thank you! Seems they are calling people now. Btw she did tell me official offer letters will go out either end of this week or next week. BTW if anyone else get BICU reach out to me.. would love to connect
  10. I heard they were calling today to extend offers. I know a few ppl that have accepted offers from the OR Has anyone heard from ED?
  11. I hear they are only taking 4 residents. Recruiter said they were still interviewing and hadn’t made a decision yet
