I've also been accepted! Congrats guys!! I've also been accepted at VIU so chances are I'm going to decline my acceptance at UFV. My grades were: BIO 12: A FOM 12: A CHEM 12: A ENGL 12: A I also had about 200 hospital volunteer hrs from two different locations and one was a leadership position. For my essay, I prepped by watching some ted talks about nursing LOL and a couple of Youtube vids. this was also my 2nd time apply with my first being the JAN 2021 intake Best of luck to you all!!

ahh OK... My application used to say that my current program was qualifying studies (I was in the nursing track so that makes sense) and then the other day it changed to "Bach of Sic Nursing" which I thought was kinda interesting.

on the application status, what does it say under "current program"?

Hey guys! Earlier this week I received my acceptance to VIU for fall 21 whoop whoop!! It is my 3rd choice but I still haven't heard from my 1st or 2nd so I'm getting a bit frazzled LOL. Has anyone completed or is currently in the VIU program? If so I'd love to hear your opinion on the school and the program and all of the pros and cons!

hey, I applied to both and personally haven't heard back from either. UBCO has sent out acceptances here and there and they said they'll send out all by the end of April but I don't think that counts for uni transfers who took classes this past semester. for uvic, they sent out some on April 1 and then more today (April 23). they said they'll have all first-round offers sent by the end of April and after that, you're put on their waitlist.

Hey! yeah I saw it online. I have A's in BIO 12, CHEM 12, ENGL 12, and FOM 12 however they're all 86's so my average is 86. I think that my CASper test is what helped out my application. I applied for VIU's 2021 fall intake and I found out that I was put on the top 20 waitlist. for those of you that were waitlisted last year, how long did it take to hear if you were offered a spot or not? I'm really hoping it is more of a couple of weeks of rate rather than months LOL thanks!! ?

I got an email for April 15 2-6pm this morning

for the Jan 21 intake they sent out emails on both sept 29th and 30th

for anyone who didn't get an email today don't worry too much. they usually send emails out over a 2 or 3 day period that correspond with info sessions a week later. I think they do 2 or 3 different info sessions

I also haven't heard anything... for those of you that have, is the info session next week or the week after? I'm just hoping they do it after finals week

UFV doesn't require a CASPer...

The only email I got was from them confirming that all of my documents have been received. I got a generic email from them about an hour ago and it was just about their program and it had a link to a lab tour.

I upgraded my math course in 3 weeks and I finished with an 85! I was sooo mad but ill just have to go with it I guess. Don't be! It honestly wasn't that bad. I can't tell any specifics but for the essay, I'd just recommend researching nursing and what the job entails. Can't give much advice on the interview cause of confidentiality but I think that as long as you have good morals you'll be fine.

See I thought the same thing. They said my GPA wasn't high enough so I took it as average but maybe that's not it? Not entirely sure if I'm gonna be honest

I had one B and 3 A's the first time I applied and I didn't get in but it was a very low B and it took my average down by quite a bit. I feel like if your average is above like an 86 or 88 you shouldn't worry too much. As long as you do well on the essay and the interview you should be OK. FYI I found the essay a lot more difficult. Apparently, I had a really good interview but my essay wasn't the best and my grades weren't strong enough.

That's probably the reason. I'd say probably too low of a GPA or not enough volunteer hours. Mine is also ready for review. Treena from health studies phoned me at the beginning of February just to double-check my application and she said my app was all good.

Hey! I've also applied to UBCO as a first year transfer student! my high school average is 86-87% which I don't think is very competitive but I think I have a pretty solid personal profile which I'm hoping will help make up for that. I have 150+ health care volunteer hours from three different health care settings and then, including my non health care volunteering, I have 400+ hours. My university average from last semester is an A- and I'm currently in A&P 1 which so far I have an A in but I'm hoping to finish with an A+. I've applied to Camosun/UVIC, VIU, NIC, TRU, OC, UFV and UBCO with UVIC being my top choice and UBCO being my 2nd.

Hey y'all, for the Winter intake, the applications were due Aug 15 and then they didn't send out invites for the info/essay session until Sept 29 so its a bit of a waiting game

hey guys, I applied to UFV right out of high school for their Jan 2021 intake and I made it to the interview round but wasn't accepted because of its competitiveness. I applied with A's in Bio 12, Chem 12, and Eng 12 and a B in Precalc 11. at the time I also had 150+ hospital volunteer hours from two different locations (one being a leadership position). I'm in the process of upgrading my math in which I am projected to get an A and I also started volunteering at another hospital. While I wasn't accepted in the BSN program, UFV health sciences still let me take the anatomy and physiology 1 course so I'm hoping that that will have a positive effect on my chances of being accepted for Fall 2021!
