  1. Hi there, Although I agree with the idea to stick it out (at least for 3 months or so I think), I've gotta say that if you already know in the back of your mind that you don't like wiping butt/ lifting patients then I don't think med surge hospital nursing would be a great fit for you. Look at the med surge nursing topic and you would be surprised how many of them dying to leave their job especially with all these unsafe ratio nowadays. With that being said, you don't need to be a nurse to have the happy feeling of helping people. Healthcare has lots of career that you can look into! However, being an RN can be a good payoff since after several years you can work in a clinic (depending on where you live they would require bedside experiences). I know that majority of people say you should stick it out but I think you should really be honest with yourself and ask these questions: Do you imagine yourself doing this job years in years out? Do you really love helping people hands on or just love the idea of it? Do some research if you can find other paths that would deal with less direct patient care but still provides you the career satisfaction of helping people and pay a living. I know that it is a lot to digest but its better to ask and see for yourself now than wasting time and money go to nursing school and then quit! Best regards!
  2. Did you call the health center to schedule your titer and got the form complete?
  3. Yes the all nurse acc has the private mesaage button but if you want here is my email address: [email protected]
  4. You are welcome, make sure to gather all your health info and book appointments with the school health center asap since you need to upload it and it needed to get cleared! It wilL take several weeks! Good luck and I hope you and those whos in the alternate list would be able to make it in! don't lose hope! I know that last year since I was on alternate list they told me they keep 20 plus people in the list. That is a lot hahha. But I am not sure about this year though!
  5. I heard my friends say that its for background check and clearance but shes in the bridge program. Probably ours gonna be later since we begin in fall
  6. Yes I was with you in the waiting list last semester you remember? LOL Finally we made it in. And no I have no idea for the facebook group. You guys already purchase the background check and castle branch right?
  7. They have a long list, last time I was an alternaye and they told me 20 plus
  8. I wonder why its so strange. The guy couldnt be an alternate no? Or someone already give up their spot so the next spot goes to him? Who knows
  9. There you go! Theres still hope. Did he say by what time he has to accept the offer?
  10. If you wanna go by LVn route, definitely do it since there is bridge program and ADN and when you graduate you can make a decent amount of money to cushion while trying for the bridge program. PCC plus you 5 more points if you completed your LVN there and later apply to bridge. I graduated LVN last year but from a different cc so I did not get the points. I would not encourage you to do LvN private though cuz if you wanna go private route, you can get ADN already with 60k compare to almost 30k for LVN. Financially I think its not wise since after ADN you eventually get your BSN. If your BSN is your end goal then 60k I think is manageable to payback. But if your end goal is Master in Nursing or even NP, then I think you should save those loans money for those degree. Per retaking policies, PCC I think is the most generous, me personally retake all 3 in their courses. So well I just encourage you to retake Micro and Chem so you can plus 5 more points! Again, this is only my opinion and what I do over the years to boost my grades. You can even go get the IV and blood withdrawal certificate to have 2 more points (theres accelerated course which is around 2k and you can get the certificate in a month or so) we are all in this together! Keep fighting!
  11. Have you tried other colleges? And what you mean by Master? Master in Nursing? I totally get what you are feeling now since I have been rejected 8 times by different colleges and I waited 5 years already to get into the program. I know it is sooo discouraging but if it is what you want to do, I just say that keep aiming for it by all cost and you will get it eventually. do you have all As in your science core? PCC doesnt mind if you retake science course, I retook 3 of them to get 3.6 so if there is any class you can retake to make your score even higher then do it! this is just my opinion solely, do what you need to do and do not ever lose hope ?
  12. I have 85 this cycle. I've seen the points just go up high and high each application passed. Good luck to your nursing journey ?
  13. I used yo be waitlisted. And usually for waitlisted, you will Be notified several weeks later ( for me last application period). And you will wait if anybody dropped out then they will notify you through email. So do not lose hope yet.
  14. Its the email you put when you submit your application
