Permanent Restrictions
@hbpa2021 Hello! Are you currently working as a nurse with narc restrictions? I need ideas of places I can work where I won’t need to admin narcs. I hear dialysis is a good place to start. I also heard jails from someone today because they said no narcs can be given there? I don’t know if that’s true or not though. Thank you!

CA Probation early release
@Applebees123 What is “burden of proof?” Or is this possibly a CA thing?

New Grad in recovery, is PNAP mandatory?
@futurenurse123456 Hope everything is going well! Any update on your situation? I imagine if you submit your fingerprints with your application that your BON would be able to see everything, including expunged charges. Let me know though please! Similar situation here...

I Need Help
@hppygr8ful This is a vague question but can lawyers suggest reducing the amount of years for a consent agreement? Are these requests ever successful?

I Need Help
@MsLuckyWon Thank you for your speedy response! These are questions/answers I would give so much to know ?. I have no doubt I’ll be hit with a consent agreement, and it seems the Ohio BON hands out 5 years like candy. I have a lawyer lined up that I’ve spoken to once, but those are questions I want to ask him before shelling out his $1,500 fee to even begin the process because I could end up in the same consent situation without him and spare my money. I’m hiring a lawyer because so many here advise this. Have you considered contacting one and asking if they could change or reduce your agreement?

Ohio BON Final Review
Hello again Buckeye123, and hello K. Everly BSN! Buckeye123: Thank you very much for your response; it gives me a sense of hope. I have a nurse lawyer lined up, and I will also send in letters of reference and CEUs. I’m wondering the same as K. Everly BSN regarding CEUs. Can you share how you found these to complete or websites where they can be found? My concern is the BON disregarding CEUs I complete because the source isn’t what/who they want. Thank you again for your advice!

I Need Help
Hi MsLuckyWon! I don’t actually know how to directly reply to someone’s post so I apologize for that. I’m not new to AllNurses, just new to having an account so I can join in and ask questions. I’m also in Ohio, and in a couple months I’ll be applying for my RN NCLEX, but I have to have a lawyer and go through the ringer because of a mistake in my past. My question is did you have a nurse lawyer when the BON gave you the consent agreement for 5 years?

Ohio BON Final Review
Hi Buckeye123! I was hoping you could share an update with us regarding your ATT? I will be in a similar situation with the Ohio BON in 2021, and hoping I could gain some enlightenment from you ? Did you test already? Did you have to sign an agreement, and if so for how many years? I know everyone’s situation will be different. Have you found contract/agreement-friendly employment? In general how has your experience been? I really appreciate your time and ANY advice or tips you would be willing to share with me ?

Well thank you very much for the recommendation! You made my day, and I greatly appreciate your first-hand experience and knowledge!

Okay, you’re right about getting a lawyer as well as the recommendations all throughout this board. I contacted one at the beginning of this year and told him I would contact him again when I’m closer to graduating. I’m now a couple months away and I’ll be contacting him in January. He’s $2,000, but probably money well spent. This is my only question and I promise I won’t ask anymore about this: Are you in Indiana or KY? If so, I might seriously consider applying in either state. I’ve just heard horrible things about the Ohio BON. Also I’m glad you told me the Zoom situation these days with Covid so I know to possibly (hopefully) expect that now. I think I would rather be sweating buckets at home.

I will thank you!! That is wild about 200 or more cases on zoom with the BON! So you heard everything with the people before you?

I can’t thank you enough for your response, your time, and your words of inspiration! I suppose I’m slightly fortunate because my unfavorable life choice was 5 years ago, so I’m not currently tied with legal issues, and hopefully the amount of time passed will be in my favor. Apparently I need your lawyer and to apply in your state wherever that is ? Hopefully somewhere sunny and warm! On a serious note, I’ve been told from some who haven’t gone through the process that I could make it through without a lawyer, but you may be steering me in the right direction of having legal counsel on my side. Again, thank you for everything!

Thank you, Betterdaystocome, that was a very nice, thorough response. I’m not being sarcastic, I really appreciate your response. I guess really the only reason I asked about Ohio is because, from what I’ve read here, Ohio is very unforgiving and slaps everyone with at least a 5 year contract, give or take depending on circumstances possibly. I know every BON case is different depending on the individual, their past or current life choices, and the state. So, now in retrospect, it really didn’t make sense to interject myself here. Did you know about this website and visit here before you applied for your boards?

Okay Betterdaystocome, so I understand you don’t want to reply to me and share what state you’re in because you think I’m the FBI or something. No I’m not. I’m a student in Ohio just looking for some hope regarding future matters. Yes I’ve been following the recovery board here for 1-2 years reading stories and advice from everyone, yes I finally created an account to ask you that, and no I don’t have my life story listed in my experience. You ignored my question and continued to reply to others after me, that’s fine. What’s interesting to me is that a week before you posted this discussion, you had posted another discussion about shaving off all your body hair and cutting down all your nails to bare minimum. Seems suspicious!

Hi Betterdaystocome! First, congratulations! That is a huge accomplishment! I’m currently a student, and I wanted to ask if you could share what state you’re in?
