AVC Fall 2021
Last semester they sent emails to those who were accepted first and then a couple weeks later they sent out the denials to emails also. Not sure how they are doing it this semester because last semester they were told the same info that acceptances will go to email and denials to letters in mail but they ended up doing both through email.

AVC Fall 2021
Wow! Thanks for calling and finding out. I can’t believe how much longer it’s going to be. ??

AVC Fall 2021
Active? Like.. back on campus? I am with you.. I thought most schools were letting people back on campus for in-person instruction in the fall. It's ever-changing I guess. I still can't believe the amount of apps and makes me think I won't stand a chance. Private schools are looking more enticing at this point.

AVC Fall 2021
That is insane and I wonder how accurate that is because that is nowhere near the amount of applications that was received in the other LA County colleges. The most I have seen so far is PCC getting 800 apps. But I do know that AVC holds on to applications and will review them for the next application period in case you don't get in. I am from the AV but I did all my coursework at COC and out of state.

AVC Fall 2021
Oh OK! I hope we all hear back soon.

AVC Fall 2021
I haven’t heard anything either ??♀️ Well, I know the LVN-RN bridge heard back already. So maybe that’s it? I don’t think generic heard back yet.

AVC Fall 2021
I would think they get about 100 or so. But it’s really hard to say. The schools down closer to LA get way more and with AVC being so far..I wouldn’t think they receive as many as the other schools in LA county.

College of the Canyons (COC) ADN Fall 2021
Yes, this is Azusa Pacific University but no, not their ADN. This is for their BSN program. I'm not sure about a program for a second bachelors, sorry!

College of the Canyons (COC) ADN Fall 2021
Hey! So, I just started the application process with APU but in the email I just received from them says this for application deadlines, also the 3 locations they offer are High Desert, Inland Empire, and Monrovia: Feb 1: for a May start June 1: for a September start Oct 1: for a January start

College of the Canyons (COC) ADN Fall 2021
Yeah, I definitely don't recommend WCU. It's wayyy too expensive! But the ones I mentioned, even though are private, they are non-profit. I know a few amazing nurses who went to WCU but I just can't justify that debt for myself. NU, so far has been the cheapest private that I've looked into. But APU isn't too bad, especially with their scholarships and financial aid options. They also offer multiple locations.

@Greta Heath This is my second time applying for COC too but my points are not as competitive, so I am hoping for lottery too. Have you looked at APU, National University, or MSMU? Privates are usually not an option for me but since being rejected to all programs the last two cycles, its getting discouraging. On the surface they seem super expensive but they offer a ton of scholarships that brings down the costs dramatically and if you qualify for financial aid then thats even better, cost-wise. MSMU only admits once a year but APU and NU have multiple start dates. If you don't want to have to leave the state, I'd look into them and see if they'd be a good fit. They are my backups if I don't start a program this Fall.

AVC Fall 2021
Does anyone know where the clinical sites will be at for this next cohort? I know they had to change things because of covid the last two semesters but I am wondering if they will start sending people back to AVH. Last I heard, they were having clinicals only at PRMC. It's not like there is plenty of options up in the valley but I was just wondering.

AVC Fall 2021
Technically they don’t do a waitlist. So for the two ladies up there, they applied for LVN-RN bridge. That particular way of applying will put them on a waitlist because it’s a first come first serve type of thing. But for generic, there isn’t a waitlist. Instead, they keep your application on file if you don’t get in to the cycle you apply for and they look at it again the following semester. After that, if you still don’t get in then you will need to reapply.

AVC Fall 2021
I think, from what @Futurenurse661 found out is that you don't have to send AVC transcripts to the transcripts office. But all other college transcripts need to be sent to AVC transcript office.
-
AVC Fall 2021
Honestly, I would get on and send another copy right now. There’s still a few months before we hear back and hopefully you have time to send that extra copy before they get to your app. ??
-
AVC Fall 2021
Yeah. Here’s a screenshot of how they wanted it. One sent to transcripts/admissions and one sent with your nursing app. BUT, the ones sent to admissions could be either mailed hard copy OR electronic sent from your previous college.
-
AVC Fall 2021
Yeah. So, one set is supposed to be sent to admissions at AVC and another sent along with your application to the nursing dept at AVC by mail. Was that what you were asking? trade tech is an excellent option for a backup. I think their wait right now is about 3 semesters though. Pre-Covid their wait was 1-2 semesters. But since it’s a first come first serve and they accept applications on a rolling basis, it’s nice to have that option if other schools don’t pan out by time your turn comes up at trade tech. And from what I’ve heard, they do sometimes get to people sooner because most people start a program elsewhere before their turn comes up which frees up the wait list.

AVC Fall 2021
Yeah, you are absolutely right. I just meant that AVC will ask for hard copies along with your application as well as electronic sent to admission office. So, unfortunately we have to have them mailed to us and submitted along with our apps. But yeah, every other school I've done just electronic orders.

AVC Fall 2021
I find it so odd that they require their own transcripts tbh. This is the only school that I've applied to that requires it in hardcopy or at all. Everywhere else just wants you to send electronic transcripts and not along with your hard copy application. IDK, what are yalls experiences with other schools?
-
Mt. Saint Mary's BSN 2021 Fall
OK thanks. When I search msmu through credentials to send my transcripts, they have a few addresses listed and only one option for electronic. The electronic option has a different address than what they have listed on their website for the doheny campus. Which one did y'all choose? LOL This is confusing. But I also noticed on their website it lists an email address for nursing docs. Did you send it there?

Mt. Saint Mary's BSN 2021 Fall
Does anyone know if MSMU accepts electronic transcripts or is it hard copy only?
