  1. Don’t give up hope! For the Spring term, they let around 20-30 people off the waitlist. It’ll be less for Fall term but there’s still hope. I was waitlisted and am finishing up my 1st term at Linfield. Don’t give up on Linfield- it’s been such a good experience so far!
  2. Hi there! I was recently admitted for Linfield's Spring 2021 cohort. (I was waitlisted, among the top 5 on the waitlist) I always check in on these forums, because only a few months ago I was in your position- and I was dying to know where I stood. My nursing preq GPA was almost a 3.8 (3.79), my science pre req GPA was a 3.5, and my Anatomy and Physiology GPA was a 3.9. The reason I split them into groups is because they weigh their decisions based on varying priority for certain grouped GPAs (I.e. anatomy and physiology GPA) it was my impression- and I believe it may say this somewhere in their FAQ online that they prioritize your GPAs in this order: A&P, Science, Cumulative (Nursing). Also, I had just finished my clinicals for my CNA license and had a few hours from different kinds of internship programs. Your CNA experience will definitely work in your favor. I think the first commenter mentioned that they only let a few students who are transfer students based on the term- Fall. That's when most pre Nursing students from Linfield begin the program which subsequently makes it really difficult for transfer students to be be admitted. Spring is the recommended cohort for transfer students to try for. I wish you luck and hope this helps!!
  3. I was actually called last week and offered a spot!! I am beyond excited! So they are definitely moving down the list. Possibly through 5 students now. I really hope you get in, rooting for you!!
  4. Hi there, I'm just making this post to see if there are others out there who applied to Linfield University's (Portland) Spring 2021 BSN cohort and were waitlisted earlier this month. I thought it might be helpful to try and find out how many students are being called and taken off the waitlist, and where they were on the list. The waiting is so hard! I was told I was placed among the top 5 on the waitlist so I'm staying optimistic. Anyone else?
  5. Congratulations!! I was waitlisted and supposedly am at the top of the list.. we'll see! I hope everyone else got in!! Just posting so students applying in the future can see my stats and their chances of getting in ? Hopefully I'll be able to meet you all in the Spring!
  6. It's kind of reassuring hearing this. If they told others this, maybe a decent portion of the waitlist will be offered admission!
  7. Wait, I thought all science pre reqs must be complete at the time of application? Or am I reading it wrong? Linfield's website says:
  8. @Gee.All93 I still think you will get in! You've maintained a 4 for all of your other reqs and have lots of experience. Looks like you're interested in L&D nursing? Me too! Maybe if we both get in we can exchange info! Did anyone else here go the biology route instead of Chemistry? Just curious. Also, where did you guys complete your pre reqs at? I've been all over the place including a community college (COCC), Oregon State University, and Concordia University.
  9. Wow, that's an incredible application! I am positive you will get in. Good luck!!
  10. I was talking about cumulative, not prerequisite. I'm not even sure what my prerequisite GPA is as I was under the impression they looked at cumulative. I checked. My prerequisite is 3.67, ouch. I think I'm almost expecting a rejection at this point haha.
  11. Right, that's why I decided to apply for the Spring cohort. Right after I was accepted into Concordia's on ground program which suddenly closed down, forever. Yikes.
  12. me too! so it sounded like you guys all have previous bach degrees? that makes me even more nervous ahhhh
  13. Hey guys! I'm also a transfer student waiting for the decision today, so I thought I'd put my stats out there for other applicants to look to later on. I have a cumulative GPA of about 3.7, 4.0 in A&P, and 3.5 in lab sciences. I have some, but not much experience. I had a short internship a couple years back where I shadowed people at a local hospital and before I applied I took a CNA course with the standard 120 hours of clinical and labs. Although I have no paid medical experience. Wow reading your guys' applications made me so nervous. I hope you all get in! Let me know! -Cate
