  1. Hello everyone! I have just finished my semester of a BSN program, and my current GPA is 3.71 because of one B+ grade that I received in one of my classes. is this GPA competitive enough for CRNA or NP school?
  2. Hi everyone! so lately I’ve been feeling quite depressed while taking nursing classes. This is my first semester and I can confidently say that I’ve been putting 110% of my time into it. However, regardless of how much efforts I’ve invested, my grades don’t reflect it. When comparing my grades to my peers’, mine are well off. I’m constantly feeling like I’m trailing behind everybody where I used to be the top of my class when I was taking my prerequisites. I always try to adapt a new approach for how to study for exams, but so far none of them has been proven successful. As I’m approaching the end of this semester, I went from “wanting to get all A’s to just wanting to pass”. As of now, I’m feeling deprived of energy, unmotivated and emotionally drained. What should I do?
  3. Thanks for your input. I’m currently enrolled in the Linfield BSN program for the Spring cohort. For my understanding, linfield just bought a new campus in Portland so I’m wondering what the experience is gonna be like.. have you heard anything good about Linfield?
  4. I agree. However, for you to get into a PA program you need a direct patient care and I think working as an R.N. can help you with that although it’s not required. As for Linfield and OHSU, both are accredited and can get you the same or similar education quality. OHSU is much cheaper because it’s public while Linfield is private. That’s why it’s so competitive.
  5. Hi everyone, I’m fairly new to the Portland metro area and was kinda wondering which school in considered better or more respected in nursing: University of Portland or Linfield University? thanks for sharing!
  6. I can’t agree more! Actually, when I went to OHSU for consultation on the BSN program, the consultant told me that last year they admitted someone with a prerequisite GPA of a 3.0. So overall I think that they evaluate applicants holistically, and grades do matter like you said, they are just not everything.
  7. That makes sense. I don’t think OHSU looks at these 3 GPA separately so that might give you leverage. Plus, you work experience could also help out so I think your professor is right. Are you on the wait list at Linfield?
  8. Gotcha.. I started my application at OHSU just in case I wouldn’t get into Linfield. By the way, what was your stats like when you applied? I thought working as a medical assistant at OHSU would get you into Linfield
  9. It says here that the cohort starts each September, it did not state any other cohort dates
  10. Oh wow! Are you referring only to the accelerated program or also the traditional 3 years one? Because before I applied to linfield, it appears that they have only 1 cohort available (NursingCas didn’t even let me add their program at the time). As for the scholarships, do you know of any scholarship in particular that can help out? Either way, I think I would probably pick Linfield over OHSU mainly because of the 2 year duration versus 3 years.. but what’s your opinion?
  11. I can’t find it.. can you drop the link to it so I can add myself?
  12. Let’s do it!
  13. Sorry meant to say I got accepted too! Thank you! By the way, I thought OHSU has only one fall cohort..
  14. Are you guys gonna create a facebook page where we can all connect?
