  1. Thanks so much! I am sticking to ambulatory care, but I’m happy to hear other suggestions even if they don’t fit. Sorry to have caused confusion!
  2. Hi all, I'm looking for advice on what useful certifications, continuing ED or courses to pursue to support my career (I've been licensed for 10 months so far). What are your recommendations? Learning skills and information is more important to me than specific credentials, unless those credentials can actually expand my scope. I'm especially interested in sexual and reproductive health, especially for LGBTQ+ populations, but am game for anything that helps the patients. My clinic is a FQHC with a large population of immigrants, poor folks, folks with mental health diagnoses and substance use disorder.
  3. I’m hoping some of you experienced sexual & reproductive health nurses could give some guidance as to good certification, training or continuing education to prepare for this work? I’m a relatively new grad working in primary care triage and my work supports me focusing on sexual, reproductive and gender affirming nursing- now I just need to find the training for it! Also- how in depth are your physical assessments? Do you do pelvic exams? Still trying to figure out the muddy waters of scope of RN practice in my state (Oregon). @Trudy Smith @cayenne06 @LittleLiz8235 @SiwanRN
  4. Wondering if anybody is working as an RN in either GP office or doing strictly sexual health? I'm a US trained nurse interested in community health and trying to learn more about nursing scope of practice in GP/community health in the UK in considering relocating. I'd be grateful for a chance to learn about your work, in this thread or via more direct messaging. Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks! That makes sense. I guess I like the breathability of natural fibers, but sustainability is also so key. I love that article!
  6. Brand new nurse here, can anyone point me to scrubs that are all/mostly cotton or other natural fibers? I haven’t been able to find much higher than 50%. I guess I am a textiles snob, but am not loving they high polyester content. Is the high synthetic content to help with stains?
  7. Thanks so much, @gardengrower92 ! I am starting a 15 month accelerated program tomorrow, so I think it's too late to go to school in Canada. I looked into applying there but I was accepted locally mid March, and my partner wasn't ready to commit to the move until... well, you know how the last 6 months have been ?
  8. Thanks so much @gardengrower92. I'm a bit confused now, is the NCAS the equivalent of the NCLEX here? I thought that BC (as well as Oregon) used the NCLEX for licensing. Trying to figure out how to take the least number of exams possible and still move there when I'm done with school.
  9. GardenGrower92, would you be willing to discuss which program you went to for your license? I'm in a BSN program in Oregon and know that I want to apply to the NNAS on graduation, I'm hoping for information on whether my program has already been approved for other candidates. Happy to discuss privately too. Thanks.
