Mount Sinai PSON ABSN Fall 2022
I called today (spoke to whoever picked up the operator line) and they said our schedule will be sent/ made available to access about 1 week before orientation. If you are taking Pharm and/or Patho to be transferred, you won't have to do those. I also asked them about how the classes will be administered and they said currently they are giving us the option to go in-person or not, but labs, clinicals, exams will be in-person, which I think is fair. They basically said they are still trying to figure it out as they go along b/c of covid and all, so hopefully optional in-person is what is settled on.

Thanks for sharing! I really hope its subject to change. Im not looking forward to commuting + sitting in a class room for hours a day, during another covid surge, and beginning of flu season... It would be pretty irresponsible for a nursing school of all places to not to take proper precautions. Hopefully everything works out!

I guess its true. I just compared last years PSON catalog to this years, and they removed the description of it being a hybrid program.. it just says "blended program" now. Not really sure what blended means, but disappointing for them to change their approach now, especially when covid is still around. Guess they had difficulties with sticking to the hybrid approach, or want to be able to move things around without the program having a limiting label.

Its a hybrid program so we will definitely have classes online. Im assuming we might be like 80% online in the first semester since we do have lab classes to attend, then we'll be more in person after our clinical start in semester 2 ?? But im just guessing.. I would like to know more details as well, but I've heard they are pretty disorganized, their ABSN has only been around for like 5 years so its new as well, plus covid and all..so I don't even thing they will have concrete answers until the last minute LOL.

On the order site and PSON website, it looks like a similar color so I think its OK? I also don't think it matters much if its a shade or two off. You can also always wait for Black Friday sales for scrubs as well, and there's lots of other nice brands too, that are cheaper.. But I think Figs' sale for BF is at least 20% plus maybe you'll get something extra with the order? Don't quote me tho LOL. Clinical also don't start until the 2nd semester, and I've heard there's only a handful of times you end up in labs during semester 1, so I might buy the default scrubs for the first semester, then buy some nicer ones and keep the other as a back up pair just in case. I imagine 2 pairs will be good to function on.

Honestly, they weren't the greatest! They were all in the B range. One class was a C+, and I still need to take Nutrition, and retake the BLS from AHA. BUT I think I made up for it b/c in the past few years I did take some outside health courses, have a certificate in public health w/3.7 GPA, and 2+ years experience In a nursing home(hospice volunteer). I also think I answered my essay questions very well, and I must have done well in the interview too

College of Mount Saint Vincent Spring 2022
Hi, did you go through a multipart interview process? Or just get an acceptance letter?
-
College of Mount Saint Vincent Spring 2022
Hi can anyone tell me what the acceptance process was like? I applied for the Fall 22 semester and was called by an academic advisor for a prelim interview. She was great and said I would be a great fit. She said the next meeting would be to review my transcripts, im assuming b/c im missing 1 pre req, which I am am completing before classes would start. We scheduled the meeting but a few hours later I received a rejection letter? I text her to see if that meant our appointment was cancelled and she just sent me the appointment request again. Idek if this is an error, or they are just stringing me along

SUNY Downstate ABSN 2022-2023
Unfortunately I don't have a faculty screener yet. Hopefully I will get one... I only have 1 green checkmark on the entire list of submission items and its for a letter of recc. But regarding admissions, they seem rude and unorganized. They definitely gaslight. They try to make it seem as if your recommender can just send a regular letter of recc to the admissions email if there are any problems, but when I emailed them for this cycle, the response I got was something along the lines of "there is nothing wrong with our system...". as if my professor FROM DOWNSTATE is lying... the funny thing is that I've seen in this forum that this happens and it also happened to one of my recommenders last cycle. and even after the professor emailed them, it wasn't until after I submitted my application that I realized they didn't even update the letter to reflect on my account as received and they still swore it wasn't the issue. I know from a previous recommender that they do not ask for a regular letter of rec and the questions are very specific. she sent me them to clarify and give her more info so she could write a good letter for me. So if my recommender from this cycle could not log on to even see any questions or submit or whatever the case may have been, I really don't know if whatever they wrote is good enough for admissions.
