  1. I think this is great! I sent it over to my state senators in Michigan.
  2. I am an RN, BSN. This was my third year applying and I got awarded. I work as an endoscopy nurse in a low income, high needs area. My DTI is 170%. .HPSA: 16 (Primary), 18 (Mental) I was credit checked in May and was notified of award August 12th, officially awarded with cosignature August 20th which is my contract start date. People do find out later in September so don’t give up hope yet! Also - YES private loans are also covered by this program. The majority of mine are private, all co-signed by my parents, and they were all covered. I’ve read a few posts where people said they are not but that’s not true. As long as they went towards your nursing education, private co-signed loans are covered. Also - you cannot pull state taxes from the amount awarded each month. Every penny of the money that is given each month has to go on the loans. The program automatically pulls federal taxes for you.
  3. I also received a finalist email of award and accepted for the Nurse Corps LRP! RN, BSN (Endoscopy Unit) DTI: 167% HPSA: 16 (Primary), 18 (Mental) 3rd year applied! Those who don’t get awarded this year, keep applying!!
  4. Third year applying. I was offered an award my first year but unfortunately took a new job at a different hospital system during the wait so I was disqualified. RN, BSN (Endoscopy Unit) DTI: 167% HPSA: 16 (Primary), 18 (Mental) Experian alerted me today to the credit check. Which is much sooner than the last two years. Good luck to everyone!
  5. You cannot go to a new job at a different site after applying. I called and asked, believe me. Regardless if the new site qualifies for the program, it immediately disqualifies you. You have to be at the site you originally applied with for your application to be valid.
  6. I totally understand - last year I got a job offer that I couldn’t refuse after waiting months for an answer from LRP. A week after I accepted my new job, I got my email that I had been accepted into LRP and had to decline it which was the hardest decision ever. But I try to see it as that I helped someone else giving them my spot that year. At that time my DTI was 200% and my site score was 16 and I had one credit check in May. Currently: RN-BSN, LRP applicant, DTI is 190% and my site score is 19. Credit score done June 16. I still haven’t heard anything and that’s super frustrating and confusing. I just keep praying.
