  1. Fingers crossed we wake up to good news in the morning ??
  2. Happy Two weeks everyone! I rediscovered the word doc that I drafted all my prompt answers to. I think I will spend the remaining two weeks obsessively reading over what I submitted?
  3. I apologize! I misspoke, I applied to prespecialty, so I have no nursing experience. It seems like few people applied to agacnp compared to the other specialities. Hopefully that works in our favor ??Good Luck!
  4. I just got the financial aid email as well! I also applied to direct entry agacnp. I am so nervous. the week leading up to decisions is going to do a number on my mental health. I am trying to prepare myself so I do not end up in a terrible slump regardless of the results.
  5. No, I have not received anything since I submitted my application. I also have not filled out my FAFSA. Does anyone know the deadline for filling out financial aid? Does Vanderbilt have a deadline different from the FAFSA?
  6. I really just need a Yes or No at this point so that I can plan my life accordingly ? the wait is killing me slowly
  7. The waiting period is split between fighting the h*ll out of your self doubts and wanting to start planning for acceptance. Of course, putting acceptance into the universe for everyone ✨Congrats to everyone getting acceptance, interviews, etc
  8. I am having a lot of mood swings. I go from hopeful to "you might as well start on Plan B" It's getting hard to stay sane LOL. So far, I have avoided rereading what I've submitted. I think if I do that, and I notice any kind of mistake, I will pass away. The waiting time has made me realize I need to pick up some hobbies outside of being a student.
  9. Happy New Year ? as we are getting into the final countdown, what are some activities you all are doing to stay sane until decisions are out? I feel like my life is in limbo until mid February
  10. I am doing the same thing w my AP 2 course
  11. https://www.wsmv.com/news/vanderbilt-seeing-uptick-in-nursing-program-enrollment/article_669be86a-3a0b-11eb-b418-e38f804b03ad.html It looks like the increase was seen mostly in people who already hold a BSN or MSN. Mostly in emergency care and psych. As we get closer, I’m getting antsy and am searching for any literature I can find on the program. Thanks for the link!
  12. I did not take the GRE. I do have some healthcare experience; interned in an OR and adult daycare in high school and I am currently working in a pathology lab. My first major was actually physician assistant in a special 5-year program that Howard University offered, but I transferred due to financial reasons. I found out after that the school that I transferred to did not have an accredited nursing program, so I ended up graduating with a psychology degree. Hopefully, my experience and resilience outweighs my GPA!
  13. Oh wow! I will keep this in mind as we get closer to the final countdown. Thank you for this insight.
  14. Hey guys! I am soo nervous! My grades were not the best. I graduated with a 3.0. But since I transferred, my cumulative is like 2.7. I know they look at more than GPA, but that is on the very low end. I am almost done with my science pre reqs, I am taking AP 2 next semester. I completed AP1 this fall, but need to pay my balance to release my transcript. I will have it paid over first week of January to update my Science GPA for my application, but is that too late?
  15. Coming up with a response to "Describe how your personal qualities and personal and/or professional experiences have contributed to your academic success. Explain how they will contribute to your success in our rigorous graduate nursing program and a career in nursing. Include challenges or obstacles you have overcome." has been very difficult for me. Which question did you stumble over?
  16. I am applying to the AGNCP program, I am soo stressed because my undergraduate GPA falls under 3.0, Due to financial issues, I had to work when I wasn't in class, so my grades suffered a little and I did not have the time for extracurriculars. I have to remind myself it is a holistic program and I miss every shot not taken. My science GPA is currently at 3.6, enrolled in AP 1, and taking AP 2 in the Spring. I am having a hard time articulating my thoughts within the word count. Anyone else applying to the AGNCP specialty? We are in the final countdown, good luck to everyone!!
  17. Hello everyone! I am so nervous and excited to start my application! I am coming in with a bachelor's in Psychology and am currently finishing up my prereqs. I have a few questions for the masses. I wonder, is it better to have 2 professional, 1 professor referrals or 1 professional, 2 professor referrals? Also, who do you all have reviewing your applications? When I was applying for undergrad, I had high school counselors who walked me through the process. Of course, I can complete the application and gather the materials myself, but I would love a proofreader. Lastly, I see that a GRE is not required, but is the TEAS a requirement? Is that something we do after we are accepted? Good luck on the application process and I hope to see everyone in the classroom Fall 2021!!
