When did you receive that email? I was accepted in early September, and I have received my official offer letter in the mail and have registered for courses. But I haven't received any emails with any info yet.

I only applied for Winter 2021. It is so confusing! It took me quite a while to figure it out. But after some digging online, I found that they have a table in the student handbook that explains how to apply for loans for the after-degree program. Here is the link: https://nursing.ucalgary.ca/sites/default/files/teams/5/BN Student Handbook F20-W21.Final_.pdf The table I used is on page 28. So in the Alberta Student Loan application, I stated that I'm in the Bachelor of Nursing program, degree-holder, and year 2 (because we start with year 2 courses). I was then able to select "January 1 - April 30" for my start and end dates. If I understand it correctly, I think we will be able to apply for the Spring semester later in the year. Once that time comes, we will select year 2 still, but then it will give us the option of "May 1 - June 30" for the study dates. And then in September 2021, we'll be able to apply for year 3, September 1 - April 30. Then year 4 includes May 1 - June 30 (2022) and September 1 - December 31. I hope that helps!!

I applied for Alberta Student Loans before I got my acceptance offer. They will approve your loan right away, and then it is finalized once the U of C sends them confirmation of your registration. It's nice to get that done early, and factored into the budget ? Here is the link for current tuition and fees: https://www.ucalgary.ca/pubs/calendar/current/p-1-1.html They have suspended the campus recreation fees for this year, since we will have limited access to those facilities.

For those of you who have been accepted, just a heads up that we can enroll in our classes! You have to pay your deposit first. For me, course registration appeared 3 days after I paid the deposit.

So sorry to hear you have had such a difficult time!! MRU is incredibly hard to get into. I was told by one of their admissions' employees that even students with a 4.0 GPA get rejected... if they don't apply on the first day! It's insane. They have more 4.0 GPAs applying than seats. I think because if you have a degree, they base it off of your last 4 courses. So lots of people upgrade with 4 easy classes and apply with a 4.0. Were you able to figure out your GPA for U of C? It's still super early. You could definitely get in from the waitlist!! Wishing you the best of luck.

I got accepted this past Monday! Degree-holder route, and I believe I applied with a 3.88 GPA. All of my documents were received in the first week of August. Has anyone received their admission package yet? I think it might only be sent through email, not in the physical mail. I'm looking at the Health Care Provider CPR courses, and wondering when we will have orientation so I can sign up for a CPR course that's a day or two before that. Since our CPR is only valid for 12 months, I have heard that it's best to certify in the first week of January or last week of December so it doesn't expire when we're in the final weeks of practicum each Fall term.

Hi everyone! I applied on August 1st, and my application status changed to this a few days ago: We have started reviewing your application for admission to the Winter Bachelor of Nursing program. Please note offers of admission will be made beginning September 1. If additional information is required, you will be notified here. Please check back regularly for updates. So I guess we only have a few more days of waiting, until the first offers start going out!
