Middle Georgia State University Spring 2021
@AshReady2021 I don't think we can until accepted or maybe the advisor registers us for the 1st semester? I'm not really sure how that works but I don't think anyone can just register for that class. I definitely haven't tried though. On a positive note though, we have waited this long so next week or the week after isn't near as far a way as we have waited and we all will finally get a yay or nay!

@Kuvesh86 if you don't mind dorm life or don't have kids like myself I would def check on the dorms on the macon campus, years ago anyone could rent out a room and it was pretty affordable but its only open to MGA students now. If not, I know there are a few spots close to downtown macon that rent out rooms to college students (mostly to the other college there: Mercer university). There is also a place off Zebulon Rd that caters to college students but its expensive.

@Kuvesh86 which program did you apply to? I believe the BSN programs are taught on the Macon/warner robins campus if so I would prob look into the dorms on the Macon campus, if thats something that you might be interested in. If Im not mistaken the Spring ASN program is on the Dublin campus and I don't have a clue about housing down there. The city is alot smaller than Macon though. How far is your commute now if you don't mind me asking. I'm hoping to get in the ASN program and its about a 45 minute commute from my house in Macon.

@AshReady2021 yeah the 1st time I did my worst in science and grammar usage. I guess we will have to wait and see. It's such a long waiting game. I applied 2 both the ASN and BSN and was enrolled to take Micro this semester but actually got accepted into CGTC's ASN program the 1st week of school at MGA, so I dropped Mirco and just taking A&P2 now. I literally applied to just about every program that I could within a 60 mile radius. LOL I feel like I have a good chance at the ASN program- then I will have to figure out which one I want to go to.

@AshReady2021 I agree, I think it does depend on other applicants stats, the only definite is the GPA requirements. Your GPA is strong. What prep book did you use? I ordered my API book off Amazon and it helped alot! I took my 1st TEAS test in April and didn't really study much besides what we were covering in A&P1, made a 73. After really following that book for a solid month, reviewing all the systems and functions, I re-took my TEAS in May and made an 80.

It was opposite for me, I love A&P. LOL I'm not certain but I'm assuming letters will be sent out in Oct sometime. I seen somewhere on here that during the 2018/2019 cohort, they were sent out the week of Oct 26th so I'm assuming it will be around that time for us also. Over 2 months is certainly a long time to wait but I'm going to try and not get myself anxiety over it and focus on getting an A in micro.

@Aspiringnursingstudent2021 I applied to both as well. I wasn't planning on taking micro this semester but it has to be completed prior to starting your BSN and I didn't want to " leave all my eggs in one basket" per say with only applying to the ASN program. My GPA is a 3.1 and I made an 80 on my TEAS. I really don't think my GPA is high enough for the BSN but I'm hopeful for the ASN program and ironically is what I prefer. I already have a B.S in healthcare administration so another B.S makes my pockets tighten. LOL From what I have read our stats are above average so hopefully we both get in!

Middle Georgia State University Spring 2021
I created this thread because I found the previous threads bout the ASN and BSN at MGA to be very helpful and wanted to start a similar post for the upcoming Spring 2021 ASN/BSN program. Who has already applied and if you feel like sharing what were your stats? If anyone has previously been accepted, please feel free to share your thoughts, experiences and advice for us aspiring nurses!

@RN2020scm from what I see, you are already more prepared than me! So I don't think you will have a problem getting in. @PoweRNursing I do have one question for you, if you don't mind me asking as you seem to be well informed on this process- Do they take your overall GPA on your transcript or do they have a "nursing GPA" which just includes pre-reqs to the program? If thats the case than my GPA is slightly higher than my overall 3.2. Any advice would be greatly apreaciated! Thanks!

WOW!! This is such an encouraging post! @RN2020scm and @PoweRNursing, yall are going to be amazing nurses! @PoweRNursing I just found your posts on this forum and I have to say it's been really helpful and I thank you for that! It certainly gives me an idea of what to expect! @abaxter I too, applied for the Spring 2021 ASN and BSN program though I really want to get into the ASN- I already have a B.S. and the cost of another really makes my pockets tighten! LOL I also don't think my GPA is good enough to get into the BSN program but I applied to just about every nursing program in central GA. I have a 3.2 GPA and scored an 80 on my TEAS. If you havn't went back and read some of the other posts here to get a better idea of STATS, I encourage you to do so. Good Luck and I hope we both make it to the 2021 cohort.
