My Covid test was negative! Thank goodness. I really think I have the flu. It’s been almost a week and I still have low grade temp and horrible cough. I’m feeling better than I had been though. Still waiting for my fingerprints to be approved, and my drug screen hasn’t been uploaded into castle branch yet. I know I have nothing to worry about with either, but I’m so ready for them to be all clear and in the system LOL. I found a FB group for all level SPC nursing students. It seems helpful, but would love to have all of us level 1s together!

I'm slightly paranoid that my fingerprints aren't approved yet. Not because I have anything to be worried about, but because I just want them to be all ready LOL. Also, I may have Covid ? (waiting on my test results) and being sick is just making everything else 10 times more anxiety ridden LOL. I plan on continuing my current job as a wedding hairstylist, while also applying for PT or PRN positions in the hospital.

My fingerprints are still pending, I did mine on Tuesday. BF did his on Monday and his are complete in castle branch. I am going to get my drug screen in a few minutes. Was trying to do it sooner, but I may have covid and was waiting for my covid test results before going anywhere. I was afraid to keep waiting. How long after you went for your drug screen did it get uploaded into your account?

Hi Julia, BF and I are going to CPR Tampa in Tarpon (I think it's Tarpon, it's on 19) on Thursday at 4:30 for CPR/BLS. I think it was around $84.

I am feeling the same! Very ready for Fall semester to be done! I've made a list with links to all of the things I want LOL. I ordered shoes, but they were too big so I returned them, and I am searching everywhere to find the same ones in my size!

I’m leaning towards sneakers! Going to get some waterproofing spray so they are easier to clean. I’ve tried the clogs on and my foot is too wide. I also have some orthotics to add to sneakers LOL.

I am online shopping for shoes. We can have all black, navy, or white. I think I'm going to go traditional nursing and do all white LOL.

Is your mom still working as a nurse? She will be a great study resource. My mom and I have bonded even more since I started my prerequisites. She works from home for a home health agency. She recently became the educator for their offices nationwide, educating the agencies on proper documentation and coding. I know she does so much more, but that is what I know that she does LOL. CONGRATS on your awesome GPA! I'm looking forward to forming relationships with fellow future nurses as well! Find me on facebook if you'd like to connect better ? That is a great GPA, CONGRATS!! There have been GPAs of at least 3.4 accepted, I think you have a great shot at getting in! Best of luck!

Oops, I just realized I replied to two separate messages in one, LOL. My message to Tiana should have been, good job on finishing out strong! I think that you have a great chance at the program! I finished out the Summer semester with all A's. My program GPA is 3.73 and I have all the required courses, so I should have 67 (67.3 if they include decimals) out of the 70 possible points. Fingers crossed for all of us! I am retaking A&P 1 Lab during the fall just in case I don't get in for Spring semester. I had a horrible professor and my husband passed away at the start of that course and I obviously missed class to be with him in hospice and the funeral and the professor was very new and didn't respond to communication. I was unable to get the material I needed and had to catch up. On top of that, he had some other issues and most of the students in our course were reaching out to the dean of science trying to get help for us because we all felt we were not learning anything and unable to pass his quizzes. I finished his course with a C, and I knew the material. So, I am retaking it because I just don't accept that C LOL. Good luck everyone! I am always here to chat!

Hi Tiana! Nice to meet you too! I hope you finished out the semester well! CONGRATS on your new baby! I don't have any kids, so I am no help with advice on that. But I can say that I am all for supporting my fellow students and would love to help with studying and anything else to help make things easier for classmates. So, if we end up starting together, or if you start later, I would be willing to have baby friendly study sessions! My mom became a nurse while my sister was a baby and I was 8, I remember she would have her friends over for study sessions and I would help with my sister and even read them flash cards now and then. I know some other moms who went through the program, and they either had familial support, or supported each other! Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best luck! ❤️

SPC Spring 2021 Applicants
Hello everyone! I figured I'd get a thread going for those of us who are going to apply for the Spring 2021 nursing at St Pete College. I am currently taking MCB2010 and MCB2010L and Stats for the Summer semester. I applied for the fall application with a 3.7 GPA, but obviously didn't have all 30 points for the courses. I knew fall was a long shot, so here's to staying the course and continuing on towards the dream! Let's connect with each other and support each other, as we are all on the same journey! I am newer to the Clearwater area, and always looking for additional study buddies or friends. My bf and I are both applying for Spring. I love creating helpful study guides, graphics, etc. I'm also a hairstylist who only works weddings, so Covid has made it harder to work and "free" time has increased, more time for studying! I hope y'all are well, and I look forward to chatting with everyone about our goals and just generally supporting each other during the big wait!
