I will be going, yes. I luckily have most of my undergrad debt paid off and have saved up a lot where I won’t have to take out the full $80k in loans.

It’s SO expensive. In the end I believe it ends up being close to $80k. They do pretty much guarantee you a job at MGH after which is really great and I’ve heard it’s a great program overall, just really expensive. I got accepted with a 3.4 undergrad and a 3.7 pre-req. I do believe it is much easier to get into than Umass! They accept about 100 students where Umass only accepted around 48 for this cohort.

@baobun I had a 3.4 GPA for my undergrad and a 3.7 for my pre-reqs and I did not get accepted.

@Future.Derm.NP I know the website originally said we would hear back 3-4 weeks after the deadline but I’m not sure if that has changed since they had pushed the deadline to the 15th? I check every hour ? I was also confused about the FAFSA!

@martijan I get that. I got accepted to MGH for Spring 2021 but Umass is so much more affordable. Crossing my fingers for all of you!

Yes Boston is quite pricey to live in! I live about 45 minutes from the school so I’d be commuting, but if you end up attending Umass, look into Quincy, Somerville, Braintree, Weymouth, etc. They’re right outside Boston but still within a 30-35 minute drive/close to the T ? If you have a few roommates you can also find a decently priced place closer to the city; Brighton, Cambridge, Allston, etc!

Just wanted to be sure, does everyone’s portal say “Thank you for applying to Umass Boston. The office of undergraduate admissions will review your application upon receiving required documents”? ...I have all my required documents in, is that just a generic message for everyone?

@EasilyExcited After reading passed threads I have seen people accepted with GPA’s as low as 2.8! Do you happen to know the average GPA of accepted students? I was trying to figure that out! I hope that they look at each individual GPA. I also didn’t do very well my freshman year but once I transferred to another school and was happier, I did much better in my classes. I’m hoping that they look at the improvement on both our applications! My cumulative was a 3.3 and my pre-req was a 3.7
