  1. @islandnurse6 awesome! I’m sure we will meet soon! I’m excited to get started ?
  2. @islandnurse6 ah yay! ? Where will you be?
  3. @native yeah, I mean I do feel pretty good about it overall considering that. I guess I won’t really know anything until I start. I can make the best of it for 2 years if I don’t end up liking it but I’m just gonna try and be optimistic. I’m in the Springs but I’ll be on 5N Medical.
  4. Well I didn’t get the Centura one so I’m doing UCHealth, I hope I don’t hate it ???? I’m really hoping they changed the rotating thing, when I interviewed I asked them about that specifically because people on here had said that it was a thing, and she said you may be on days if your preceptor is on days for those 12 weeks and vice versa (you just work whatever your preceptor works) but that once you actually start you’ll either do days or nights and you won’t switch between them. Hopefully they don’t go back and say I do have to rotate, even in the interview I was like “my biggest thing is I do NOT want to rotate” and she said they don’t on that floor? ??? Worst case, with UCHealth she did say that after the first year of full time, you can do part time or PRN the second year. Not ideal of course but if I absolutely hate it and worst comes to worst, I guess I could work PRN if they’d let me and then get another job somewhere else. Gah I’m scared of UCHealth now ? the contract is the one thing that’s been freaking me out more than anything else but it’s literally the only job I could find as a new grad in the Springs without driving to Denver. I hope I like it ??
  5. Can anyone here speak on your experience with UCHealth or Centura Health's residency programs? I got into the UCHealth one but the 2 year contract thing majorly freaks me out LOL. Maybe it shouldn't? I have an interview with Centura Health tomorrow for their residency program. I'm new to the state but from what I can tell, UCHealth seems to be a bigger name so I'm feeling like I should go with that one, despite the contract. Both are Med/Surge. Anyone have any thoughts or experiences with the two?
  6. I received an email asking to input my references but that’s the only update I have. Just got it today
  7. Hi all, I also applied for the November cohort with my preferences being in the Springs. I have a “one way video interview” via the Pymetrics app. Is that what y’all had to do? Do they actually ask you interview questions or is it just the psychometric games?
  8. Well, turns out it was in fact an accident and they didn’t even mean to contact me LOL. I am beginning to lose hope in getting a hospital job here ? Have any of you guys applied to the Centura Health residency program? I got asked to do a “one way video interview” via the Pymetrics app, curious if any of y’all have any experience with that?? ?
  9. I applied to the October cohort for all 3 locations (Fort Collins, Co Springs, and Denver) and this morning I got an email saying that I wasn't selected for the Denver cohort, but then just now I got an email saying to submit my references from the Denver recruiter. So I'm not sure what's up with that but this will be the third time I've applied to this residency program and I have never been asked to submit references until this time around. That's the only update I have!
  10. Same, I definitely would rather work in a hospital. I probably sound like an idiot but where do I check the application status? I can't find it on their website, I just waited for an email or a call. Do you mean check it by emailing the recruiter?
  11. I never got an interview nor did I get a rejection letter or anything stating I didn't get in, but I mean obviously I didn't LOL. I feel like a huge failure, I am also from out of state and I went ahead and moved here (we planned on it anyway and my husband and I both currently work full time online) but I graduated in December so I feel like the longer I don't do something, the harder it will be to get a job and the bigger a failure I am LOL ughhhh. I want to apply for the October cohort but I feel like if I didn't get in twice I'm not getting in so I guess I am gonna apply at nursing homes and home health ? for some reason I thought they normally accepted 60 applicants but I could have just made that up.
  12. I feel that it's basically gonna be working home health as a new grad at this point. Has anyone had any interviews or heard anything from jobs even though require 6 months to a year of experience?
  13. I am open to anything at this point, honestly. I have been itching to get started but really wanted to wait for the residency program. I will definitely also be applying for jobs if I don't get an offer either. Thank you so much for all of the info! Good luck! ❤️
  14. That is good to know! Just curious, how were you contacted? Was it via email or phone? I am nervous about being able to find a job as a new grad around here (I graduated in December in AR), it seems like unless you get into a residency program you will have a really hard time finding something... When I applied in February, after interviews were over they sent out an email stating that they were doing additional interviews for Med-Surge units, but I just looked at the email again and it was kind of unclear whether it was for spots in the program or just new grad positions? I am not sure how that works with them. I backpacked to Europe for 2 months after graduation so I didn't look into this as I wouldn't have been able to move here in time to start after traveling. Hopefully they do that again though, but with Covid-19 I'm not sure if that will be an option.
  15. Did you hear back that you specifically did not get an interview? I applied both for the February 2020 cohort and the July 2020 one and for the February one I never got any information other than almost 2 months later stating that they've filled all the positions. I still have not heard anything yet regarding the July 2020 cohort.
