UCHEALTH New Grad Residency July 2020
When you submitted you application did you create an account? You should be able to sign in and check the status that way. I emailed the recruiter yesterday morning and didn’t get a response. I know others who have emailed and got a response about their application status though. I thought on the new grad info page it said they would send an email to everyone once all the positions are filled but IDK how accurate that is

They probably do accept 60 normally, if not more. Did you check your application status? I’m not convinced the October cycle will be any better because they lost a lot of money when they canceled elective surgeries. We’re not even getting tuition reimbursement till at least next year and I doubt we’ll get bonuses this year. So yeah IDK if I should wait for the October cohort and risk not getting hired again when I could’ve been working full time and making more somewhere else. I really wanted to begin my career in the hospital setting but it seems impossible at the moment

IDK if this will make you feel better, but I’ve worked for uchealth for 2 years and I haven’t even gotten an offer. Times are just tough right now. They were only able to hire 30 applicants this time around.

I know that MGA and Nurse Core do

They’ve had to lay a bunch of people off. UCH isn’t at that point, but they aren’t hiring as many new grads as they normally would

No, but I heard centura took a pretty big hit during covid and may not be hiring anymore people ☹️

I was contacted by phone, but other students in my cohort were contacted by email. I think it just depends on the unit and who’s doing the interview. Many are virtual so the process is different this time around I think. I am also nervous about not getting a job. I know I could probably work in a nursing home or home care, but I really want to be in the hospital setting. If you’re open to working at centura, their process is a little different. They interview and give offers while applications are still being accepted. If I don’t get an offer this time around I will apply to UCH again, but will also apply to centura as soon as their application window opens.

Yes, many hospitals are on a hiring freeze and the one interview I did have I was told they’d only be hiring 1 or 2 people this time around due to covid. I know that some departments aren’t interviewing until next week so there’s still hope! I’ve had one interview and was only contacted the day before to schedule it.

I interviewed last week and was told the same. More units will be interviewing this week and next week so I’m thinking we may hear something the week of the 15th.

Good luck to you! What unit are you hoping for? UCH is my first choice if I get to pick!

While looking through previous threads it looks like last years applicants heard something this week. So I'm hoping it's the same for us! Hey, how did your interview go?!

UC Health, Centura, Children’s Hospital Colorado Summer 2020
Hi! I applied for UCHealth and Centura about 2 and a half weeks ago. I haven't heard anything from either yet, but my application status still says in process/under review. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi, I thought I’d start a thread for those of us applying to uchealth’s new grad program beginning this Summer. Has anyone heard anything as far as interviews? Also do any previous applicants have any advice as far as the interview process goes?
