Laura; I am anticipating my first travel position soon and am in the same situation as you, fully furnished apartment. My solution, "loan" my household furnishings to my daughter and her fiance' while I travel. I'm drawing up a list of what they use, we'll make a contract between us on their up-keep, wear & tear, and maintance of my stuff while I travel. I'm shooting to "try" this out for the first couple of assignments to see how it works for all of us. Naturally, I will have to store boxes of stuff in a storage unit, but the thought of mice gnawing at my lovely upholstery on my new sofas make me cringe. They're very appreciative and I think will work for us all. It will give me time to "get my feet wet" and them to get "on their feet". :chuckle Hope this helps you.
