Hey, So I have worked for NYP (all the main ones - Columbia & MSCH, Cornell, Lawrence, Westchester, and Lower manhattan & allen) for 5 years now as an infection prevention liaison which is why I work in a different NYP everyday. I lovee my department and most of my recommendations would come from there as well as my professors. They are paying some of my nursing school expenses thru tuition reimbursement. I am in an accelerated BSN program (this is my second BS) from CMSV. I am graduating december 2021 and planning to take NCLEX by feb. Has there been any previous workers for the hospital that found the process of getting hired thru them easier ? I can apply thru workday too our internal job search for employee database. In addition I will be working my clinicals 7-7 in Morgan stanley childrens hosp in peds, so Im thinking this will also help. It's where I am praying to get hired. Anyone who previously work at NYP before getting hired as an RN, Any advice.

I saw that ! I'm happy because I was feeling off about paying all that tuition to get an "nursing" degree plus I love the classroom interaction.

I have classes Monday and Wednesday from 8am- til about 6pm. I will have clinicals on either Tuesday/Thursday/Friday--> it says clinicals on 3 days from 8am-2pm but I was told it was subject to change since I doubt we have even been placed into our clinical sites and that we have clinicals only 1x/week not 3days. I I was told we should know before classes begin.

not that I know of unfortunately I was given a scholarship that last for like 3 years but I was a psychology major so Im not so familiar if nursing is the same. but typically no they give you the scholarship in your financial aid package when you begin

what campus are you in?

I did attend cmsv as an undergrad student but like in 2013 and my self service data never changed. I was checking everyday but I saw it was all there today

Honestly I don't even know because I thought the same thing that we'd be given the schedule during orientation but I just checked and its there.

Same! I am pretty sure they'll continue accepting students throughout the Summer though LOL not even sure when the deadline is. facebook is like the usual go-to platform for groups but same I haven't used it in years so I don't mind downloading whatsapp either

Yes you will have to retake it— I got a C in Microbiology in the Fall and was told to retake it and show the proof of enrollment to recieve a decision, I just got a B through Portage Learning course. I started May 1st and just finished yesterday so about 4 weeks with a B+. Also, To register its super simple and you begin the class right away and complete on your time. You add the classes you want, pay around 800$ for the course, and you recieve the syllabus almost immediately and start the next day.

Same! I'm attending for Fall 2020. I signed up for the July orientation, I am hoping it will be in-person so I can get a better idea of what the program entails.

I know! thats how I was when I got that email that she was leaving because I'm still in the pre req courses so I was afraid my decision would be prolonged. But I ended up emailing gradstudies and then CC'ing him (the new man) Iwith my new updated transcript with the pre reqs taken in Spring with grades and then within a couple of minutes, I was emailed saying a decision was made. goodluck hope to see you in the fall!

Thats so weird!-- Did you provide proof of enrollment? because I had to show that I'm in those classes to receive conditional acceptance for the fall. Once you are accepted you can make the deposit but if we were to fail the pre reqs, I am sure that check is non refundable. I got acceptance yesterday despite missing some pre reqs. I am taking micro and Chem thru portage learning still.

Does anyone know if the orientation for mount saint vincent's ASBN program is in person or online for Fall 2020? I just signed up for the June orientation one and It sounds like its in person? I'm not sure if they'll change this with the pandemic?
