  1. A lot of accelerated programs do start placement in their first years just because of the nature of their programs! SPP starts pretty immediately, uoft starts in the 3rd week year 1 semester 1 (I'm from uoft), and I'm sure that is the case for other schools like western/macs as per covid.. a lot of schools had to cancel/postpone/revise their practicum schedules. Uoft had to make students choose only one (normally we have both mental health and inpatient geriatrics) but for our cohort, we had to only choose one. thankfully school pushed a bit for second semester so now we do full rotations (med surg, ped, post partum). I know some schools are still struggling, especially GTA schools, so I'm pretty thankful in that sense ?
  2. I don't know how community college credits are considered in the states - but one thing for sure I know is they DO look at the types of courses you took. If there is any way that you can vamp it up to university level, I'd say do it. if uoft straight up told you that its going to be less competitive, they aint lying - trust me I've been at this institute since 2011 and this school is all about being vague af.
  3. ^can confirm this because I have 2.9 cGPA and have 3.77 last year AND I got accepted. pre req wise, just take whatever that interests you. as long as they fall into the category I.e. social sci, hum, etc they are fine. uoft does holistic admission. GPA is important but your personal statement and reference letter are equally important. as long as you have A- ish average for your last year with pre-reqs ready, you are fine. just focus on building up your ECs (sorry for chunky comments - it won't allow me to edit my previous post LOL)
  4. its only last year or 5.0 (last 5 full courses). cgpa and last 2 year doesnt count. as long as pre reqs are over C+, they dont care (unless your pre req is within the last 5.0)
  5. my only guess is that April 10th was Good Friday and the institution was closed! I think every offer afterward was Friday and mine/two other friends of mine were on Friday as well! (unless someone here got in during the weekdays?)
