Samuel Merritt University ELMSN-CM/FNP - Spring 2024
I really couldn't say.. but 4 doesn't seem too far down the list, so I would think you still have a chance. Take a look at the forums from past cycles. Maybe you'll find people that got in from the waitlist. And at least you have a backup in case youre not admitted. ADN isn't bad. You'll save money and can start working earlier. If you plan to get your MSN anyways, maybe you can just skip the BSN. Good luck!

Samuel Merritt University ELMSN-CM/FNP - Spring 2024
So you applied to both tracks? My sister is the one that actually applied for FNP. She had her interview last week and they said they would email everyone their decisions yesterday, but she didn't get an email. So I was just wondering if people had heard back yet or if they got delayed in sending out emails?

CSUDH RN to BSN Fast Track 2022
It’s on zoom, I believe 11:30-1. I didn’t see anything about in person. Do you know anyone else who has gone through this program?

CSUDH RN to BSN Fast Track 2022
Awesome! Way to get ahead! I didn’t even know about this program last Summer otherwise I might’ve tried starting then. From what I could find online, others have said that the program isn’t too difficult. And the Instructors I have for my courses had decent reviews on ratemyprofessor. So hopefully it’s pretty manageable ??

Yayy that’s awesome ?? I’m signed up for orientation tomorrow. Did you attend one already? My name is Nick. I just finished my 3rd semester of my ADN in Fresno. Just one more semester to go! But trying to get ahead with the BSN. Where are you at with ADN?

Fresno City College (FCC) - Fall 22/Spring 23
I would refer to the handbook, but one area you can work on is gathering all your documentation on your immunization history (chickenpox, Tdap, MMR, Flu, COVID 2dose + booster, Hep B). If you've lost your documentation then you can get titers showing you still have immunity. If you have not received your Hep B series, that would be one to start ASAP as it is a 3 dose series and takes 6 months. If you had chickenpox and did not get the vaccine, you will have to have a titer done to show you have immunity. Lastly you will need a 2 step ppd test or quantiferon done but these usually need to be done within a certain timeframe before you clinical. You should get more information about that when you get closer to the start of your program. Having all this sorted out before your program starts will be helpful as you will need to upload all of this and have it verified before starting your clinical rotations.

Just paid for my Summer courses (BSN 302, 346) today. Anyone else starting this program this Summer? Or anyone further in the program care to share how its gone so far? Thanks!

I don't have a problem with starting in the Spring. But I wish they would let us know sooner also..

Has Covid-19 affected your nursing program decisions?
I would be skeptical of a completely online program also. While virtual simulation can be helpful I don't think it should be the primary means of learning. As nurses we will need to be hands on, thus our education/learning should be also. But the situation is still developing and I think most programs are just trying to make the most of a bad situation while protecting students and patients. Thanks for your input and I hope you hear back from your other programs soon! ?

Has Covid-19 affected your nursing program decisions?
I see. That's a good option to have if the program allows you to defer acceptance to the next semester. I was selected for a program in Spring 21 and listed as an alternate for another program in the fall. Originally I was going to try to get into the fall program so I could start sooner and because I would be a little closer to family. But because of the situation I think I may go with the Spring program. There are pros and cons to both for me so I am trying to make a decision. Thanks for your input!! ?

Has Covid-19 affected your nursing program decisions?
I am seeing more and more programs and universities shifting their fall curriculum to fully online platforms and adopting new policies to adapt to the current situation. One of the nursing programs I applied to for fall 2020 is instead accepting students for Spring 2021 because their current students will be repeating their current semester due to the pandemic. I am wondering if the current situation has affected anyone's decision on which nursing program they'll pick or when they'll start?

ARC Fall 2020 Lottery
I just saw that my application status was updated to qualified yesterday afternoon. Hopefully they're continuing their review process and will conduct the lottery/notifications before September ?

SCC ADN Fall 2020
This was my first time applying. I applied to 4 schools: ARC, SCC, Fresno City college (FCC), and College of the Sequoias (COS). I wasn't selected at SCC, still waiting for ARC, selected as an alternate at COS, and selected for Spring 21 at FCC.

WOW!, I just got the email also. Thanks for the update! I understand pushing the start date back since current nursing students will be repeating their semesters but I wish they would have kept the same notification date for the applicants?
