Request part time after new grad orientation
Hi everyone, is it appropriate to ask to become part time after a new grad orientation (12 weeks). The hospital is an hour away and I’m on night shift. anyways, any thoughts on when should I ask from full time to part-time? So far I’m on week 6 of 12. Is it better to ask right after I finish my 12-week orientation or at 6 months? Thanks!

Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit
@Davey Do @JBMmom both of you gave a great insight and for this, I went with Cardiac Intermediate unit. I'm going to be in the orientation with my classmate from BSN (and we get along very well) so that's a plus! I want to pursue MSN FNP as an inpatient cardiac arrhythmia advanced practice provider (what a name) and I think that CICU would be perfect. I already applied for the MSN FNP as I just found out that I have malignant cancer and I just want to get my goals done. Pray for me ❤️ Hope everyone had an amazing Merry Christmas!! Happy new year!!

Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit
Thank you @RNperdiem and @Davey Do I'm torn between job offers: cardiac intermediate care unit and a med surg tele unit. I'm a new grad and I've seen new nurses cry at floors a lot of times when I was CNA.

Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit
Hi, is Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit a critical care? It might been asked before but is it one higher than post-surgical or med-surg? Any thoughts is welcome and appreciated!

Intermediate Cardiac Care unit?
I have the same question. The hospital is in NH. Is Cardiac Intermediate care unit... a critical care unit or just simply a med surg unit?

Bilingual..didn't used UWorld. Passed with 95 questions Oct 2020 first time test (COVID-19 min 75 max 145)
OMG thank you!! You'll pass continue doing the quick facts (Memorize). For virtual trainer, read and understand the treatments and what would you do first: knee-to-chest position, side-lying position, intubation, etc. It's a basic content because NCLEX test you on what all other nurses throughout the country knows. YOU WILL PASS!! I will pray for you and claim you pass already!!

How do you study for NCLEX when you’re broke??
Girl, ReMar saved me!

Wanted to share my experience with my NCLEX Exam for BSN, RN. I tried the UWorld with my classmate's account and I did not like it. Being bilingual I want something straight to the point ... surprisingly NCLEX test you straight to the point. Either you know the content or not. What I used: ReMar quick facts, and virtual trainer. God bless Regina and her teaching skills! You will get a 6 week calendar of what topics she would like you to study. I finished this in 3 weeks. Plus, there is a facebook group that supports you if you have any questions on Regina's topics and I had a lot! For questions, I did not do any questions until 10 days before my exam. What I used for questions: Nurse Achieve CAT. The CAT questions is very similar to NCLEX. I read their "takeaway" rationale. This is a one-two sentence that is the main point of the question. It shut off every 75-90 questions...sure enough on the actual exam mine shut off in exactly 95 questions on October 1, and now, I'm a licensed BSN, RN! Again, I'm bilingual and this is just my experience. I came here in the US at 19 years old so its hard enough to learn the slangs and different diets of various cultures so I would highly recommend ReMar and NurseAchieve. Yes I'm educated here in the US for my BSN but still I have a hard time with answering questions. Last but not the least: Both are wayyyy less cheaper than UWorld! And don't forget to pray and thank God every day every minute.

Hi I applied at MGH IHP, MSN (Post BSN) for Fall 2020 - Family NP. Deadline was 03/01. Can't find any forum with this topic so figured to start one. ? I wonder when they're going to send acceptance letters. Anyone who is currently in the program and want to share their experience, or have applied?
