  1. I think my last day was May 8! It just all depends on how quick your nursing advisors can get your transcripts in to the board of nursing. But I would imagine you willl get yours this next week for sure. But thank you, I’ll update on here when I do!
  2. I’m actually going to be applying for jobs today since I just got my authorization to test for the NCLEX!
  3. Well what a terrific day. My pinning ceremony got cancelled and then this... fun Like how do you cancel hiring nurses... ridiculous. We would be in there with it anyways. I just don’t get it.
  4. I wonder why many of us didn’t get the email?? I never got it!
  5. I put stuff about honor societities I was in or different organizations. And I had about 9 letter of recs cuz I didn’t have any letters from any old bosses cuz I haven’t worked in quite awhile, so I felt like I had to makeup in other areas. Other than transcripts, cover letter, resume... I didn’t have anything else ? Yeah you’re probably right. They are probably more worried about what’s going on in the hospital rather than figuring out new grads. So it could be another week or so if they are really taking their time.. I sure hope not cuz being at home makes the new grad program all I think about.
  6. Literally has been a nightmare for us. Everything halted for like a week or two while our teachers decided what we were gonna do. So I might end up being a week late graduating. But yeah everything has turned into online work and virtual simulations to help make up for preceptorships and lost clinicals. But yeah I have heard that NCLEX is going to be shorter. Maybe not necessarily harder though. I just got an unknown caller call like 5 minutes ago and I thought it was mayo but it was banner LOL! By the way, anyone in az, if any nursing student is looking for a temporary position at a hospital, banner is hiring students to help with the covid crisis. You just man the desks, transport patients, answer call lights and just basic help. It’s $15 an hour for day and $17.70 at night. And they are super flexible for whatever days you want to do.
  7. Ughhhh I’m definitely dying. It’s beginning to affect my sleep LOL. I’m so nervous I’m going to miss their call so I keep waking up to check my phone! I think we should definitely hear something this week. I saw on a really old mayo forum that one cohort wasn’t contacted until Friday- 2 weeks from application date. But that was the latest I saw.
  8. Welcome! I will be graduating in May from the concurrent enrollment program with Glendale Community College and Northern Arizona University! Not yet! I’m dying though! Maybe they will start next week!
  9. I am like 95% sure that it is going to end up being over Skype. I'm sure all hospitals are trying to limit the traffic coming through. I definitely was hoping for face to face as well because I feel like I can connect better. But I am sure with how many people they interview that they won't even risk it.
  10. LOL! Exactly what I am doing. I am on hold with my classes right now. So I figure I would use my time to study and be ready for an interview. I wish I had a better idea of what clinical scenarios that they would give. I can find behavioral scenario questions left and right to study but I can't find clinical scenario ones.
  11. Yeah, I’m doing everything I can prepare for this one so I hopefully this is a one and done process but I have friends that can get me an ER position as a last resort. so I guess I’m not crazy worried. I’d rather focus on one job and prepare super hard than give my attention to a lot of places that I can’t fully prepare doe
  12. I know! I am putting all my eggs into May and haven’t applied anywhere else yet. So I should realistically have other options ready. But I wonder if other new grad programs are even open yet.
  13. Well, I guess I’m glad to hear that I meet the minimum requirements! LOL. Looking at last years application process. It looked like some people heard back as early as 4 days after they got an email saying that their application was forwarded. So it could possibly be soon??
  14. Yes I got that email as well! I wonder if everyone automatically gets that email??
  15. Yeah, we could be a little too early! And most places don’t post date of when they will open up, they just randomly do it. So you constantly have to be looking! But yeah, burn unit sounds super interesting but I just don’t think I have the guts for it! Valleywise would definitely be a cool place to work though if mayo doesn’t work out.
  16. I think I missed the opening for some of the new grad programs. The only one I saw at the new grad program is for the burn unit and I don’t think I could do it ?
  17. I haven’t applied anywhere else yet. But I think I am going to today. I would like to try for dignity health and valleywise.
  18. I believe 30? The number may change each time but I thought that’s what it was.
  19. When I talked to some of the nurses that were hired as new grads out of state, they said they had a Skype interview. So I think they do that for all out of state applicants anyways! After looking through previous allnurses threads from the last application, it looks like it takes around a week or week and a half to see if we get a callback. Of course this could change with application period.
  20. Does anyone have an idea of when we should be hearing back about getting an interview? I am sure they will be held via Skype.
  21. I know with some hospitals they said that new grads are not a priority with all that is going on.. so I am not sure what that means. But I still feel like they are gonna hire cuz they will need the help. Yeah, hopefully they are accommodating with all that is going on with schools. All my clinicals have been cancelled for the rest of the semester and I might end up graduating a few weeks late :/
  22. I thought they said if you have had experience in the icu at all then it counts. So I think you should be fine actually!! But the icu at mayo is so amazing. All the technology and resources and the people... it’s just amazing. The nurses are so helpful and willing to teach which I feel like can be rare. Just overall an amazing and supportive work environment
  23. I am hoping for ICU as well LOL. But like avemadi23 said, my preceptorship in the icu was cancelled. I had icu clinicals at mayo but I know they said that doesn’t count. So that’s a bummer. I would take a pcu position though if I need to
  24. Hi! I was wondering who all is applying to the nurse residency program for the Arizona mayo program for the July 2020 start? Just applied and am already nervous! Hopefully we can be an encouragement to each other through the process!
