  1. Hi everyone, I am currently still a student and am in need of interviewing someone in the area of care coordination such as discharge coordinator, case manager, etc. for one of my classes. I have searched locally for a few weeks now and not working in healthcare is only hindering my success in finding a willing participant. I would love to find someone willing to answer my ten interview questions via email. My project is due in a week and I'm starting to stress out that I might not find someone. If anyone sees this and is willing to help me, please comment or message me.
  2. All classes are online this fall with some courses also having some in-person sessions, like labs for sciences and of course parts of nursing courses as well. They have more information on the website about it. For orientation, it will be a zoom or team meeting web call. We were told we would get more information closer to the date. We did previously get a mock calendar for the semester and a welcome letter from the professor. You had pending acceptance for fall correct? Have you heard anything else? I see there are still fund classes not full yet, wondering if maybe some people dropped because of the situation.
  3. My ADN requires Micro, A&P1, A&P2, Eng, intro to sociology, intro to psych, lifespan development(psych), 2 different arts and humanities, statistics, and a PE class. My BSN school of choice still requires me to complete 7 other gen ed courses, two of which are Chemistry and nutrition, which seems to be universal for all BSN programs. So, really only 5 extra classes. Another school near me only requires chem and nutrition and most people are trying to bridge there.
  4. @anmolraj one of my professors said he was notified this morning all Summer classes are going online, they haven't notified students yet. He also mentioned he has heard the Summer program was cancelled but was not confirmed. I would assume with everything going, clsses going online, and students not being able to get access to clinical sites that they will push Summer cohort into fall. They are still talking about the possibility of campus not being open for Fall.
  5. @Calvin Sterrett There was a zoom call the other day about dual enrollment and ATB, someone had asked about turning in the packet. She said to wait because it should be handed in person when the campus reopens. So, I would just hold onto it and wait. I'm sure they'll give further direction if it changes.
  6. okay, I was confused. I thought you were in Summer. So, Summer was given fall seats in case the program doesn't start and those originally in fall were kind of waitlisted. So is your seat locked in for Spring if it doesn't start or do you have to apply again? To accept the offer, it was an online survey link, we just had to submit our name, HCC number, etc. The seat fee was $50 paid through owlnet.
  7. Ahh okay. So will you get to do an accelerated program or will it be traditional?
  8. We have until April 30th to accept the offer and pay our seat fee. Did you not receive the email or any more info?
  9. Hey, I received my acceptance packet about a week and a half ago that contained information about the seat fee, how to accept my offer, uniforms, and everything else that needs to be submitted prior to the start of the program like immunization forms and CPR certification. I am in the Fall start though. I've already registered for the first class as well.
  10. Hi! I'm making this thread for any HCC Fall 2020 start students. I'd like to connect with other students before the start of the program.
  11. @LilyNurse Yes, mine changed Monday morning to Nurs RN. Other students were able to register Monday due to having priority (just having more credits). Has yours not changed yet?
  12. @LilyNurse Yes you can register for Fundamentals. Yeah, hopefully they communicate some info our way.
  13. Honestly, I don't know. I haven't recieved anymore information. I was going to email ------------ tomorrow about it. Her acceptance email stated we would get another email about all that and nothing yet. I do know registration is open and you are able to register for classes.
  14. My transcript has not changed. I received my email at 2:12 pm today so I doubt it would change that fast. They aren't doing the traditional letters this year because of everything going on so everything is through email. I assume it'll change by next week though since registration starts next week.
  15. Okay, maybe that's why you haven't heard back yet. I wonder how they are going to do Summer since everything is closed for a while and the semester is supposed to start in May, along with orientation.
  16. I applied for Fall as my first choice. Did you choose Summer?
  17. I'm not sure, everyone I know that applied got into Fall. The email says not to respond with Q's and to wait until more info comes and then if we still have Q's to reply next week as she will be busy the rest of the week notifying people. So I'm sure there's plenty of people that haven't gotten their email yet too. They also will have plenty of people decline their spot and then they move on to people with fewer points.
  18. Thanks! Did you apply for HCC?
  19. I just got my email from HCC, I'm in for Fall 2020!!
  20. I don't HAVE to, but I don't want to take it along with the first nursing semester if I get in.
  21. I know! I honestly don't know how we are supposed to finish Micro, we haven't gotten much feedback from the instructor. AP2 I'm not worried about, but Micro is where it seems no one knows what to do. How's Chem, I was thinking about taking the 5-week Summer semester they offer, but I'm not sure how well I'll do and I don't want to ruin my GPA. Do you know how your labs are going to continue for the remainder of the semester?
  22. HCC takes the highest grades and only uses retakes with the higher grade, I'm not sure if you know that or not. I know many students miscalculate their GPA because they are counting all classes and not just Nursing prereqs. They have accepted students in the past with as low as I think 11. Almost everyone I know that has applied this year has 14 or less, myself and another have 15, and two have more than that. So you have a good chance! I really want to do Umson, I haven't taken Chemistry or nutrition and I'm currently taking Micro, AP2 and two other classes to get HCC prereqs complete. I think the other ATB options require you to have Chem and nutrition completed before starting, which I won't have. Are you doing any ATB options?
  23. @Pday115 I just saw this on the website. Hopefully, they email everyone and not just Summer applicants. I have also been impatiently waiting! How many points do you have? Also, are you already a student at HCC? I think the other people on the thread here are not HCC students, just applying for their program.
  24. Hopefully, it won't! The campus is closed to the public, so I would assume that means employees still have to report, could be wrong though. If that is the case, I feel like it should move faster since there are no students to bug them, LOL. My micro prof emailed us saying full online format for at least a week after Spring break, could be longer. She also said the Bio department is working together on how to finish the semester since we will lose so many labs, which makes me think employees are at the campus. Anyone else's campus close?
  25. I would assume owlmail. Your email on the application should have been your owlmail, if you put something different it may go to that or even both but IDK.
