  1. It is accredited both regionally and nationally.
  2. Hey. I applied to FIU too and am an alumni, they usually give their decisions out late August to early September. I checked out Nova's policy for withdrawing from the school (in case I prefer going there). They say as long as you withdraw 20 days before the semester ends you should get back the full refund you can find this in the SEA agreement. But you should probably talk to financial aid they will know better. Good luck with FIU.
  3. They go by a point based system so GPA you get points, if you were a veteran you get points, volunteering you get points, etc. As for the video essay I don’t know why they removed it but my guess is probably because it takes up a lot of time.
  4. Hey. I don’t think COVID will affect the application numbers that much as I have applied to other universities and some have had huge numbers like 800 applications.
  5. Hey. You get the scores automatically and you could upload the score the same day to nursingcas because you download the pdf of the Individual Performance Report right after seeing the score. I'm taking mines on the 10th, so your not cutting it short if you have the rest of your application ready. Good luck on the TEAS.
  6. I am submitting volunteer hours from two summers ago at a doctor's office. Volunteer hours are not necessary I have friends who got into FIU's program without it, so don't worry about it.
  7. Hi. It’s is enough time with the deadline I took it into account and you would have two days extra incase of problems. If I’m not mistaken you don’t send them the score you just upload a screenshot/pdf of your score report.
  8. Hey! I'm planning on applying to the AO track. I'm taking the TEAS on the 26th of June so ill have a month and a bit to study. Trying to aim for the high 80's/90's if possible. Have you taken the exam yet?
  9. It’s four semesters.
  10. Hahaha. Interesting so I guess they only tell FIU students about it.
  11. Yeah I’m somewhat familiar with it. So pretty much you get a certain amount of points for each criteria. Ex. 2 points for prior military service 5 points for video essay 3 points for GPA 5 points for TEAS Sorry I don’t really remember the exact point system. You can call FIU to talk to an advisor and they would be able to tell you more about it.
  12. I wouldn’t be too nervous it’s just a number and says nothing about who you are. Just make sure you come across well and genuine on the video essay. Also I don’t know if you’re familiar but FIU has a point system when it comes to deciding on who to admit to their program.
  13. That’s something I really don’t know. It’s kind of hard to tell right now what’s going to happen a month from now. I’ve been contemplating on whether to even go next fall because the whole situation with the coronavirus and the fact that the first semester is usually the hardest to adapt to. What about you?
  14. You’re lucky you took it beforehand. You should get your decision in the Summer. I think I got mines in June if I’m not wrong. From what I know from friends currently in the program they currently have online classes but the faculty is still deciding about Fall.
  15. Hi. I'm also applying to FIU's accelerated program. I have my video from when I tried to get into their BSN program so I'm debating on whether to use it again or create a whole new video. How are your GPA's because I know last time I was a half a point off from the minimum science GPA that they require. I might take my time a bit when it comes to submitting my application for them since its due on July 1st. I havent heard anything so far from FAU. They said they should be giving us a decision by this week more or less.
  16. Hey so I asked the FIU advisor on what will happen with the TEAS and he said they are still trying to figure it out but they will have an update on their website as soon as they know. Also have you gotten an application decision yet or are you still waiting?
  17. Hey. I can't private message you on this website for some reason do you have any other way that I can message you? Or if you can send messages can you send me one and maybe it will allow me to answer?
  18. I’m going to talk to fiu nursing today and ask them about the TEAS situation I’ll let you know.
  19. Hi. I have gotten one acceptance but I'm also studying for the TEAS in order to apply to FIU which I currently go to. Same I want to keep my options open too. I’m really hoping for the best because my science GPA is not the best it could be.
  20. Hey! I applied before the deadline also and the person in charge of reviewing applications already notified me that she was reviewing mine. We should get our decisions in another week or so. Have you applied to any other nursing schools? Best of luck!
  21. Hey! I would be moving from Miami and would also need a roommate.
  22. Hey. There was an essay portion and it was really quick they told me to write a paragraph as they don't have much time to read them (the interview counts more in the selection process). The essay for me was to describe a time I did a group project, what my role was in the project, how I went about it, what the outcome was. For the interview, they select around five questions that are personal or opinionated. They asked me: 'what qualities should a nurse possess?', 'where do I see myself in 5 years from now', 'how would you solve conflicts with coworkers'. These are questions that you already know the answer to. If I were you try to practice interview questions with a friend so you formulate the answers the way you want it to sound (thats what I did). Good Luck!
  23. Hey everyone. I just did my interview for Nova on Tuesday and got my acceptance on Thursday. The process was pretty chill don't stress out too much on the Kaplan and interview. I'll probably be securing a spot for the program but I'm still waiting on FIU, FAU, and MDC for final answers and will then decide. Good luck to everyone else applying. Also to anyone who has secured a spot are you applying more for scholarships or loans?
