  1. I know ? Still waiting to hear directly from the program. But it doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen
  2. http://view.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=3908dce97794e035540163cba051802a8229234ea4adb8292a1b0d9418f711a08e09cca83cc4f2f29ec34bdec2458deb373da91f2b7fb3dcd0a7e2f5e31f436542b734eb7f197043ee7c7a6e63cd09d2 This update was posted on Saturday. I guess the college does not want classes to resume after July 1.
  3. I just saw on the news last night that the UA president said in-person classes will resume this Fall semester... Does anyone know if that means we will not be meeting on campus for July classes?
  4. Hey @michelleMEPN2020I was just scrolling back through this form and saw that you used the nationalcprfoundation.com...so much cheaper than the other options I have seen online! Was it approved through CastleBranch? I'm sure it was, just wanting to double check before I choose this one. Thank you!
  5. Hello All, I remember a long while back, someone had posted about an online CPR certification, that was accepted through Castlebranch, that was very cheap. Around $15..? If anyone can direct me to the website, that would be much appreciated!!
  6. HI! I am interested in the books! It says I can't PM you. Are you able to PM me?
  7. They aren’t raising tuition! ??? I feel such a relief and am so happy they heard our concerns! Can’t wait to meet you all!
  8. I haven’t seen the book list come across my personal or student email yet. Is there a way to see what books we need on the bookstores website? I’ll check it out later today Yes! They replied to my email address.
  9. Yes! We must have been sent the same one, mine says the same. I guess now we contact the college to see what they say? I hope we know the cost soon...
  10. ?‍♀️my bad! I am still getting the hang of this forum! @MamaJess20
  11. I did get a reply from the Board of Regents. The April 2 meeting has been postponed and they will be rescheduling it for an unknown future date. There was no mention that they wouldn't raise tuition, just that there wouldn't be a meeting this week. They did state that it would be rescheduled. I replied and asked what that meant for our tuition; will it stay the same or increase at a later date? The woman replied and said to contact the school regarding that matter. @MamaJess20 did they tell you they wouldn't be raising it at all anymore?
  12. Hi everyone! I emailed CON this morning. I also contacted the Arizona Board of Regents, whom is the board that will meet on April 2&3 to vote on the tuition changes. There is an online form where we can voice our concerns and it will be reviewed by the board members, below is a link to the form. https://www.azregents.edu/virtual-call-to-the-audience In addition, the person answering the phone at the Board of Regents office gave me the Board Secretary's email address as another point of contact to send our concerns. Her name is Suzanne Templin [email protected] I will send my concerns through the link and to the board secretary. Really hoping they reconsider!! Stay Well
  13. I haven't received any info about financial aid, and I also completed my application about 4 weeks ago. Please email your pleads to not raise tuition to [email protected] I am hoping that if enough of us voice our concerns, given the current situation, they will reconsider.
  14. Hey all! Excited to meet my fellow classmates...hopefully sometime later this Summer. I know a lot of you share the same concern about the tuition hike as I do. I hope you all will reach out and share your concerns, and ask if they would reconsider given the current situation. An extra 4k for in state and 15k for out of state students is very significant! We are in an economic crisis and with the demand for quality health care professionals greater than ever, I would hope they would make it less of a financial burden for students to enter the field. The board is meeting on April 2nd to vote on the tuition hike, so let's try to get our concerns in front of them before that date. Please email [email protected] Stay well, all!
  15. Is anyone else concerned about how Covid-19 could affect the program? I am reading that some nursing students in CA are being held up to graduate because hospitals are cancelling clinical rotations. I will be coming from out of state and am very hesitant to make a move to AZ in the coming weeks, if tighter regulations cause a hold up in the program. Does anyone else feel this way? Can any current students give feedback to how their cohort is being handled?
  16. Does anyone have concerns about Covid-19 and how this will affect the program? I am reading that in CA, nursing students are being told they will not graduate on time, due to loss of clinical rotations. Hospitals are cancelling/stopping nursing student rotations due to tighter regulations. I also have concerns about how class content will be delivered, if they are to cancel classes... What are your thoughts?
  17. The tuition hike for out-of-staters is substantial; almost 29%! That is outrageous and has left me reconsidering the program completely. Nice little surprise email to send out on a Friday at 5pm, after we've been accepted and paid our application fees, and to top it off; we won't be notified of any changes until April? I hope other out-of-state students will voice their concern to the phone number provided in the email.
  18. There is a phone number they included in the email that we are to call if we have questions regarding the tuition hike. It is 520-626-3808 or you can reply directly to the email that was sent.
  19. First, congrats to those that got it!! Glad the application/interview process is over! I have similar concerns about being awarded an MS-RN and not an MSN. Prior to submitting my application I was under the impression we would be awarded an MSN, which would leave the doors open to pursue further education in the future. I have contacted various schools that offer CRNA or DNP programs and some will recognize the MS-RN, and others will not. In terms of getting hired as an RN , I don't think that will be an issue in and around AZ, but am not sure how other areas of the US view this degree. I'm sure experience trumps a minor MS-RN or MSN debacle and you can go anywhere once you have it, but It seems like a BSN is more straightforward. Regardless, if your goal is to be an RN and get working, this program sounds like it is well supported and can definitely get you there. I am just unsure how it is viewed in other parts of the US and there may be some issues with how other colleges view the degree if the goal is to go further, which could limit school options. If any current or past students could give their feedback/experience with the degree title, or if anyone has anything else to add, it would be much appreciated!
