Sharp New Grad Residency Winter 2021
Did anyone end up on L&D at Sharp Chula Vista? If so how was it? I'm deciding between two offers and Sharp is higher paying but I don't know anyone that works there. My last floor was a really bad environment so I'm looking for a welcoming / supportive staff this time around. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

SHARP New Grad Nurse Residency Program Winter 2022-2023
Hey guys, I also applied to L&D at Sharp Mary Birch and never got the e-mail but I listed on my application and in my resume that I have already taken the course. Did you both put down that you have taken the course? Do they send this e-mail to everyone? I double checked that the e-mail on my application is correct and it is, I'm just worried that I'm missing e-mails from them or something. It sounds like they sent this to everyone who is under consideration but I never got it.

Scripps New Grad March/June 2022
Does anyone's application still say "complete"? I submitted mine the day it opened and it still hasn't been moved to "under review" but I'm nervous because my friend who's in the same nursing program as me applied and already got an interview invite. However, we applied for different locations so I'm not sure if that makes a difference on which order they're reviewed in?

Scripps New Grad Jan-Oct 2022
Is anyone else still waiting to hear back for the March/June 2022 cohort? My application still says "complete" but my roommate's got switched to "under review" last week and she got invited to an interview earlier this week. However, we applied for different specialties as our first choices. If there is anyone who's app still says "complete" please let me know bc I'm starting to panic. I don't think they can deny me if they don't at least review my application first LOL

University of Miami Spring 2021 ABSN
I asked and they gave me a generic "as long as the courses are completed through a regionally accredited institution, we'll accept them be they online or in-person." She made it sound like they won't look super closely but portage is accredited through Geneva college, not accredited in and of itself. I might just go with University of Phoenix but its just WAY more expensive.

Does anyone know if they accept Portage Learning credits? I was supposed to take microbio this fall at my local community college but its fall already so now I have to take the class and lab online. I'm trying to decide between University of Phoenix (more well-known but literally 2x the price) and Portage Learning which is the online learning division of Geneva college.

I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED! ? I'm so excited! I'm putting my deposit down, but I'm wondering if any of you have heard anything of how clinical rotations will work in January? I know they're doing a lot in the simulation lab, but I'm worried nursing students won't be allowed to work in the hospitals by January. This program is going to cost the same either way and I don't want to be at a disadvantage due to a lack of clinical hours. Do any of you guys have thoughts or additional info on this?

University of Miami Spring 2021 ABSN
Hi again with another essay question LOL All of my other nursing schools follow the general prompt of "describe your motivation to be a nurse" but this prompt says "describe your motivation for applying to the U Miami ABSN program and how it fits into your personal and professional goals." Did you guys dive really deep into U Miami specific motivation for this program? My essay for sure outlines why I want to be a nurse in terms of personal, professional and career motives, however, I'm thinking of just adding two sentences that address university of miami specifically. Is that what you guys also did or was your personal statement centered more around the U Miami program specifically? Thanks!

Hi everyone, For anyone who may have gotten accepted or already applied - did you include a heading in your personal statement or put your name on the top? There are no instructions about the format so I have no idea if I should include my name or not. I'm using Times New Roman 12pt font and 1 inch margins but aside from that I'm a little unsure. Thank you!!

Hi, I really want to apply for Spring 2021 but wouldn't be able to submit my application until Mid-June. Is anyone else going to be submitting in the Summer or closer to the August 1st deadline? I'm worried that submitting that late will make be less competitive but I really don't want to wait until the next cycle. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your feedback and for the heads up! I've never been in a nursing program - University of Rochester offers all ABSN Prereqs online but they're all NSG titled courses. What did the form entail? Did you have to get it signed by the university at which you completed the nursing course or was it just something you could fill out independently? Drexel ACE Nursing Program Spring 2021
Hi Everyone! I'm a bit nervous because I'm not submitting my application until June 15th since I'm currently finishing up Anatomy. I will have to take Microbio in the fall, but other than that all pre reqs done. The only thing is that fall grades at my college are available January 11th and they need official transcripts / proof of completion by January 15th *yikes* but I'm told they accept electronic transcripts which my school submits on the day that you order them. Anyways, I'll post my stats right now and any comments would be super helpful because I'm really really hoping I get accepted but not sure of my chances.. Overall GPA: 3.52 Pre req GPA: 3.2 depending on my anatomy grade Developmental Psych: A Chemistry: A- Nutrition: B (I took ENS200 which is exercise and nutrition sciences..hoping that they accept this) Microbio: In Progress (Fall 2020) English Composition: B Statistics: A- in NSG 211 (evidence based stats for nursing) which I hope they accept Anatomy: IP, hopefully a B but I'm so close to getting a C and I'm nervous for that..I've only ever got one C in all of undergrad but I've been having a lot of trouble focusing / being productive with Covid Physiology: B Background: I do business to business sales right now but I have 14 months (600 hours) as unpaid research assistant in an neuro psych lab, 114 hours of hospital volunteer work, a medical mission trip to India and currently volunteer with Big Brother Big Sister. ALSO, I don't know what to do about this..but I have a W grade the first time I took anatomy in Spring 2019. I know this can look bad or even be considered a failing grade by some schools, but I actually got into a really bad accident (hit my head so hard that it caused me to have a seizure on impact) and was diagnosed with a severe TBI/concussion. I withdrew because my Dr advised that I limit screen time and take it easy - anatomy was most time consuming and difficult course so it was the only one I withdrew from and I stuck it out with all others. Do you think I could write them a letter / e-mail proof with my Dr. note and such? Any feedback or posting your own stats would be so helpful - thank you! I'll keep you guys updated, fingers crossed.

Drexel ACE Spring 2021
Hi Everyone, I didn't see a thread created yet for the Spring 2021 cohort so I thought I would create one! Has anyone applied yet? I'm completing Anatomy this semester and then sending my transcripts in mid-June so I'm hoping there will still be spots available. The only pre-req I will have in progress at that time is Microbio which I'll be taking this fall. Also, did anyone take a nutrition class titled something other than "nutrition"? I took ENS 200 (Exercise and Nutrition Science) which mainly covers nutrition. I'm hoping this will suffice but if not I'm sure I can take an online class this Summer if needed. I wonder if covid-19 will slow down their admission process? I'm sure less people made the priority deadline of April 15th due to all of the chaos. Anyways, I hope you're all safe and well! If you did hear back, I would greatly appreciate hearing your stats ? Good luck everyone!

Northeastern Direct Entry 2020
Hi, I'm applying this fall to the direct entry NNP program and I've been scouring All Nurses for info/advice but I figured its time to post since this school is my top choice. I'm posting my stats and looking for feedback as I'm already extremely nervous. Major: Psychology Major GPA: 3.91 Overall GPA: 3.52 Physiology: B Nutrition: B (took it my freshman year though and my grades overall were not as good back then) Lifespan/Developmental Psych: A Anatomy: In progress, expect to get A Stats: C but retaking it this semester Micobio; Will be in progress at the time of application *I've taken 3 semesters of chem and got A's in all of them as well as A in bio100 ans bio203 so I'm hoping that helps* Healthcare Care Experience: - 25 hours shadowing PAs and Nps at a hospital in NJ - 60 hours shadowing/volunteering in Fairdibad Inda for a summer program, also got to see a natural birth, c-section and hysterectomy! - 120 hours volunteering at an ER during college - Not sure if this counts because it was 8 years ago but I volunteered at a hospital in high school for 120 hours as well Research: - 16 months as a Research Assistant in a Developmental Neuro psychology lab (was in charge of study recruitment, scheduling/project management and administering questionnaires to study participants); 10 of the months I got semester credit for (unpaid) but the summer months was volunteer work and equates to roughly 200 extra volunteer hours - 2nd author on a paper in the same lab and presented a research poster at the Student Research Symposium at my school I will have 3 strong LOC including one from my lab manager and 2 from professors. Anyways, thats it - I'm pretty confident in my writing abilities so I think my personal statement will be really good but I'm nervous about my lack of healthcare experience and having microbio in progress at the time of application. I'm considering saving money to take an 8 week microbio class over the summer and then getting a job as a scribe in August but the only issue is that my current job pays pretty well (I work in sales for a staffing company) and most scribe or patient rep jobs don't. I live in San Diego currently where the cost of living is extremely high so this is a bit of a concern. Anyways, any advice would be SO helpful because as you can tell I'm already kind of freaking out. Thanks!
