Good Morning Everyone, This message is for anyone whom might have answers, especially possibly the Class of 2020 and 2021 currently in the program whom might have first hand knowledge. When we are completing our Clinicals it was made very clear lateness will not be tolerated but have you ever heard of students being excused possibly an hour or half hour earlier because of childcare issues? Is there any leniency? Our Clinicals are 7am-7pm I am pressed trying to find solutions that accommodate these long hours. At this point we still do not know if in person school will even exist in the Fall (more problematic) yes I am aware of the new DOE Distance Learning possibilities. At Lehman childcare begins at 7:30am ( ? ) and although things might have changed because of the pandemic I was previously informed school-aged services (I have two elementary boys) begin after 3pm. -- I am contacting them about this! I am hesitant to bring these concerns to the department as I do not want my personal situation to be counted against me. I am determined to make this work! I am doing this basically alone, their father has passed, available family is more than 2,500 miles away. Any and all suggestions, ideas, rumors are welcomed with open and grateful ears. Feel free to PM me if you feel so inclined! @Amberrae and @ILoveGreen -- sorry to @ you guys I just have seen you two on this forum and thought maybe you know of how other single mommies in the program have made it work. There were close to 88 maybe more in the meeting we had today. Hard to tell exactly though as some people were in the meeting two and three times. That is amazing Congratulations to you!! I am just starting my journey and happy to have found this as I will undoubtedly look into utilizing this resource in the future when the time to test for the NCLEX is upon me!! Congratulations again!!

It is called “ Lehman College Undergraduate Nursing Association “ . I quickly skimmed through it but there are outdated posts there still filtering through the “course”. I just received a notification that this was added to my BlackBoard. So not sure what it is about yet but it excited me as it was new news LOL.

I just got an acceptance letter !!! ??? My heart was pounding I did not even read everything in it’s entirety but I just wanted to let everyone know that they have begun to accept!! It came to both Lehman and personal email. I guess it goes by what you put on application.

Juneteenth is now a CUNY holiday so if we don’t hear today we may not tomorrow either. Has anyone heard of decisions on a weekend? I don’t really expect an answer although if you have one I’m all ears. I’m just venting frustration but the day is not over so hopefully someone gets an email today!

Hey everyone, For those who are able to get a response from the department are you utilizing the nursing.department email or are you emailing the nursing personnel direct? I ask as all inquires to this general address go unanswered and perhaps maybe I should go another route. I'm hoping it is not personal and a sign of bad news to come.

I believe it is our Lehman email but this is just based on what I have read on this forum. I am also anxiously awaiting any news and hope it comes today!

I wish I could give you sound advice. I can only say this have Prof. CG this semester. If given an opportunity I would not choose to take her again. There is only one other Prof. (so FAR) scheduled to teach 269 in the Summer. Prof. KS teaches 269 in the Winter. I know someone who took this class but it was a hybrid class and during the Fall. If you can wait till Winter semester and if KS teaches completely online I would recommend her even though I do not have personal experience with her. In my class we have yet to be graded on anything. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for sharing this. How were you able to get a Zoom meeting with her? I am waiting to hear something anything official. The only answer I got from my professor is to watch the website.

I'm watch MSNBC too although I switch between this channel and CNN. I did not hear restrictions past April 29th, but that date seems premature at this point....ugh this is all so disheartening. Hopefully New York can continue to ebb the rate of new cases. Stay well!

Hi Bri143, I had a nursing advisor (forgive me I do not remember her name, she sits in the second office in T-211) also inform me that HIN's do NOT factor. Determination is made (from my interpretation of what she said) from Pre-Req GPA and HESI as long as minimum requirements are met. Hope this helps....but as always talk with the Dept for concrete info! I am taking HIN 269 this semester and unfortunately it has been a very disappointing experience - COVID-19 pandemic not included. I believe I am doing "well" thus far however I will not hesitate to evoke this CREDIT policy if I am unhappy with the Prof.'s evaluation of my performance. In my opinion I do not see how any institution could/would discredit this notation given the circumstances which surround this pandemic. However, Kil Park makes a valid point and if you are considering Grad School you may want to heavily consider evoking this option if the course you would apply it too is a vital admission course. Of course adhere to what the nursing dept says.... just my humble opinion. Stay safe everyone!
