  1. It’s a community college, it’s was actually for psych tech because I’m a psych major and thoroughly enjoy it but I’m thinking of just switching to a private school and going straight to RN because the RN programs at the community colleges are equally impacted and delayed
  2. Nightingale is not much cheaper only slightly when accounting for credits you already have on top of them not being regionally accredited so you’re very limited on where you can continue your education if you plan to and you have to leave the state for clinicals doesn’t seem worth it to me I decided not to pursue
  3. You’re not in California are you? Almost every nursing program is impacted like a couple years out impacted sometimes and those are the only affordable ones if you’re patient and have very competitive grades scores and or are lucky if it’s lottery based then you can get in otherwise you pay 50-100k it’s ridiculous
  4. Los Angeles, CA
  5. I’m applying to the October start date
  6. Hey it’s been a while how’s everything at Donovan? Still loving it? I would be half way done by now but thanks to covid my program has not even started yet it’s been delayed supposed to start 2022 now
  7. My sister in law goes to nightingale college but she is in Vegas she’s half way through with the program and had good things to say. I am looking into smith chason I was accepted into mt sac psych tech program but it’s been continuously delayed due to covid and I thought I could go do six more months and have my RN. I already have an AS in psychology so I’m hoping to have them accepted I did not see nightingale on the approved program list though
  8. @monylo32 wow that’s great excited for you thanks for keeping us updated please continue to do if your schedule permits congrats I have a ways to go lol but excited to apply because that’s exactly where I want to work
  9. @monylo32 wow congrats! That’s where I want to be at Donovan please keep updating on your experience there and If you go permanent etc lol since I can’t private message you I noticed they were all limited time at that location but figured it could roll over to permanent
  10. @monylo32 thank you for the quick reply! I look forward to your update.
  11. @monylo32 thanks for your comment I am interested in working at Donovan prison I live in la and right now I’m struggling with choosing an RN program or a psychiatric technician program. I already got in the psych tech program. I’ve been a caregiver for seven years and my passion is mental health, I want to get into the prison while I continue on to become a psychiatrist. I want to practice at the prison and build a pension. How was the initial process applying? How did you feel about your interview? Please let me know if you got hired. I know as a psych tech I can apply four months before graduating but RN has more options, pay, and class schedule and options.
