  1. Hi! I have recently started work at a hospital where the nurses are represented by a union. We have the option to join if we would like and pay dues, or we do not have to join the union. I know each hospital/contract is different, but do any of you have experience as a member of the union? Any experiences would be great to hear!
  2. I graduated first week of December, started work as a graduate nurse the first week of January and took my NCLEX a few weeks after that. I was able to start work prior to passing my NCLEX though.
  3. I went through a BSN program, so this might vary. But the soonest we could take NCLEX after graduation was about a month or so. The nursing school has to send proof that you graduated to LARA, you need to apply for your license, do fingerprinting and background check, and wait until LARA sends you ATT (authorization to test). And only then can you register for a date. Hope this helps!
