I am in the Spring 2020 Cohort at Ivy Tech-Lawrence. It really depends on the campus on what scores would be competitive. Lawrence, Crown Point and Bloomington have reputations for being very competitive and require high scores. Minimum score accepted into these campuses would be around 129 or higher. Campuses like Kokomo, Terre Haute, Fort Wayne and Muncie will take scores as low as 119 for the ASN. IMO if you are going to apply for the competitive campuses then retake any class that you got less than an A. Your grade for Quantitative Reasoning would not be included in your points score. Otherwise you will need to score in the 90's on the Teas to make up the points you have lost to be considered into the ASN program. If you score isn't near 129 and you still want ASN, try the other campuses. Otherwise, just apply LPN only. Then just do the transition program. It will take longer, but you will still be a nurse and it will be easier to get into the ASN program. And I am not sure about the CNA being worth an extra 5 points. I heard that same rumor but I haven't seen anything official from Ivy Tech that confirms that. Double check with your advisor, but I think getting your CNA will also benefit you in clinicals! Good Luck!
