San Joaquin Delta College ADN Fall 2021 Applicants
I am applying but I am lower in points, about 70. I had to retake physiology so it kind of hurt me. Did everyone see they posted the app dates?

Modesto Junior College Fall 2021
Anyone hear any news yet? I am kind of frustrated MJC didn’t leave a timeline on the nursing page of when we will be getting acceptance/denials. Also is anyone applying for delta college next week?

Modesto Junior College Fall 2021
I think you will get in. I haven’t heard about any adjustments made for clinical placements for covid, only for fall 2020 entrance. Hopefully they found a way to make it work. I spoke to someone who was in the program and she said they are all getting their clinicals done first at the beginning of the semester so everyone can get theirs finished. don't take my word for it though, it’s just word of mouth. I wish they would give more updates about the application period, as it literally opens in 4 days. I’m still trying to find dates for Merced and Delta.

Thank you for this information, I too screwed up straight after high school, so currently making it back up. If I don’t get in this year, I am retaking physiology at delta or Merced to save my behind.

Modesto Junior College Fall 2021
Hello, I believe that you won’t get a penalty, however you need to have MJC or any other school evaluate your transcripts before application so that they will have it on record that they are equivalent. I would also make a counseling appointment with one of MJCs allied health counselors, so they can show you how to put it on your application. I’m not an expert at filling out these applications but this is what was told by M. Garcia counselor.

No, I talked to M. Garcia the allied health counselor. He say it would be fine if I took it at delta/Merced/Stan

Modesto Junior College Fall 2021
I have 67. I will be fine for lottery, but I retook physiology 2 years ago, so I have a deduction on my end. I was unaware you could retake at another school with no penalty. So suffering this time around but still going to take the chance ?

San Joaquin Delta College ADN Spring 2021
I have an urgent question, I applied for this semester and I was not invited. I completed all of my science courses at MJC. I got a C in physiology due to the fact that my teacher got sick and they had to find a replacement at the beginning of the semester so we basically started 3 weeks in with no instruction but at the same spot we should’ve been at. I was lost as I was not really strong in chem but I tried hard to pass. If I were to take a science course at Delta or Merced, is that still considered a retake?

I am currently filling out my application. I am a patient sitter at DMC in Modesto. I was wondering if that counts as work experience? There is no license requirement besides having a BLS certifications. I help the patients up to the bathroom, check for safety when patients have restraints like if it is cutting off circulation. I will help feed and change them if the Nurses need it.I deal with psych, Alzheimers, Schitzophrenia, homeless people, minors who are on holds, and people who are fall risks or people who are wearing a bi-pap machine. I ensure safety of these people. I was just wondering if this counts as work experience because I have the 1000 hours but no certification besides BLS.

Don’t know where to go from here
Hi, thank you for your words of encouragement! I have looked into other programs at Delta, Merced, and Stanislaus State, however they all want a 2.5 or higher!

Don’t know where to go from here
Hello! I am a student at MJC. I am finished with my prerequisites, however I have a 2.3GPA. You need a 2.5 to even apply. I am frustrated because I took anatomy 5 years ago. I was fresh out of high school and didn’t take it seriously. I got a C. I then took chemistry, 3 times. Yes you heard that, 3 times. I really struggled with the theory of chem and the math confused me as well as the balancing etc. I finally passed chemistry, which is not a direct prerequisite, but you need it to take physiology and micro. I took micro, got a B which I was happy with. then came physiology, I took this class, going through a breakup of 6 years, working 2 jobs with a 4 year old child. I pulled a D, and decided I would try again the next fall. This fall came around, and I was so ready to get this course over with. I was prepared on the first day. Everything was going great, then my professor was struck with epilepsy the second week of school. She did not expect it as this was her first diagnosis, but we missed 2.5 weeks of instruction in between cancelled classes and they struggled to find an instructor to replace her for the semester. The dean advised us to not drop the class. This was the same week the ‘drop without w’ date came up. So I tried my best, but I could not teach myself the basics that we missed at the beginning of class. We were instructed to read and teach ourselves cell structure/function/metabolism, cell membrane transport, and some of chemical messengers. I had my old sister tutor me. I did all the extra credit that was offered. I still pulled a 75.79%. This brought my prerequisite science GPA to 2.33. This was my second and last chance to take physiology and this circumstance put me in a bad place. I can not retake anatomy because I already got a passing score. I can’t retake physiology again and I believe if I did I wouldn’t get a decent grade anyway. I can challenge my grade with the dean and the instructor but I’m not sure if it will even be worth it. I’m doubting myself and all I really want to do is apply for the program. I want to be stable and start my career and my life already. I don’t know whether to continue with nursing or just accept that I can’t get through these prerequisites. Should I just do the CNA program, go for Medical assisting? I just need direction.
