Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me how many hours of psychiatric nursing (theory and practice) is necessary to be able to have your RN status recognized in the US? I trained in Spain and I am not quite sure if I have enough hours (might have to do further training). Please if you know how many hours did you have during your training in psychiatric nursing (theory and practice) you will be a great help. Thank you very much and have a great day everyone!

Hi bigmona! Congratulations on passing the nclex!!! I can just imagine what a relief! I am studying for the nclex too, could you share what your study plan was for you? May be able to get some more tips and one day say that I passed on this very same website. Congrats and go and celebrate!!!

Hi again! First of all thanks to martiforlife and susanah for answering my question. I bought the Saunders book yesterday, and I am quite impressed with it, given that the information is so compressed that you are able to read through different chapters fairly quickly! Anyway, I don't want to get too excited about it, I still have a lot of learning to do. To answer you Susannah, I came with an L2 visa (my husband was working for an american company in the Uk and asked him to come over), I have applied for my work permit (can take up to 3 months), when I get my work permit then I can apply for Social Security number. I sent my application to the California Board at the end of September, and after an initial scare (in which they lost my application and I had to resend it) they will hopefully send me my att by begining of march. About the concerns regarding the fact that english is my second language, I ask my college in England to send information regarding my BA Nursing that I studied over there in english...I would think that it should be enough (please let me know if you think that is not the case) I am currently living in San Jose, California... do you live near by?

Hi everyone! I moved to california 2 months ago and studying for my nclex while awaiting for att. I have been vey confused lately about the nclex, topics to study, best resources,etc... I finally found this website....So good to know that I am not alone! I am really strugling to get a study routine that is realistic and that will be effective at passing nclex. I am thinking of going shopping for Saunders book given that everyone here seems to love it. I would really appreciate if you could give me any advice regarding how to study most efficiently for nclex, are seminars any use?, etc Thank you so much and have a great day!
