  1. Hi, yes! There are faculty members dedicated to just helping us with paperwork and giving us advice on how to contact clinical sites, but the process of actually finding and reaching out to possible preceptors is independent!
  2. Oh no, I am so sorry that happened to you. Fingers crossed that you get in!! My experience so far has been great. With COVID, the program and faculty really did everything they could to give us as much in person experience as possible, and all the professors have been so kind and knowledgeable. It is a super accelerated program which comes with its own challenges, but it is doable! You just have to prioritize staying on top of the material, and realize that you can't possibly know everything about everything. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so this took me some time haha but I am sure not everyone would struggle with that. Clinical has been one of the best parts of the program as well. We do a 10 week rotation in the hospital as part of the "Fundamentals" course where you get acclimated to the program and nursing in general. Then you get to do 5 week rotations in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Adult Health, and OB. That is what I am in the process of now, and I feel like I have learned SO much. Not sure if that was the kind of information you were looking for, but feel free to message me if you have any questions!! ?
  3. I'm in the FNP program about to start the last semester of my Pre-Specialty year. ?
  4. Hi! I just wanted to encourage you guys since I was obsessively monitoring the 2020 forum when applying to the program last year. I was initially waitlisted in 2020, and then got pulled from the waitlist in June and accepted the offer. I have absolutely 0 regrets about coming to Vandy, and have had a really great experience. So, if you get waitlisted, don't lose hope! And if you were already accepted, congratulations and feel free to reach out if you have any questions ?
  5. Hi everyone! I applied last cycle for the Nurse Corp scholarship but unfortunately didn't get it. I was wondering if anyone who did receive the scholarship last year would be willing to give advice on essays/general application tips! Thanks SO much in advance ? In a super expensive direct entry program and kind of drowning in costs right now haha so any advice is so appreciated.
  6. Does anyone know what is the start month/year and end month/year of the pre-specialty and specialty year of the program is? I am about to submit my application for the Nurse Corp Scholarship and feel like I did that part wrong because the dates are a little different.
  7. Hi! Quick question in case anyone here knows the answer. Can I apply for the Nurse Corp Scholarship if I took out loans in undergrad? There is a portion in the application where it says: "Do you have any outstanding federal debt or any liens?"
  8. Thanks for the insight. I hope that everything is okay for you, and that this was a positive thing!
  9. Hi friends! Hope everyone is doing well. Has anyone heard from the FNP waitlist? ?
  10. Congratulations, this is so exciting! I'm also on the waitlist and was wondering if you could share a little bit about your experience? Did they call you? CONGRATS again, and I hope everyone is doing okay during these scary times in the world.
  11. Waitlisted for FNP program ? But another school is waiting for a response so not sure if I should take the chance even though Vandy is my dream. Congrats to everyone accepted!!! ❤️
  12. How are you guys checking the status of your app? Any FNP applicants?
