to NurseRIT: it went well. So it turned out that yes, we were expected to wear uniform but only for lab section. Some people didn't but the professors were relaxed about it since it was the first day and all. During lecture you don't need it, however. But since I started with my lab and then went straight to lecture I just kept mine on. side note: for the uniform you can wear an undershirt/longsleeve but it must be white. some clinical sites check for white socks. Try and get a good pair of white leather comfy shoes. ? They also recommended us compression socks.

I'm in the regular ADN program so we start this 27th. Yeah, I think I will do just that. thanks!

So I looked thru the syllabus and it says to be in uniform in the clinical setting whether at college or clinical site. So does this mean we come in uniform on this first day? I'm gonna try and be on the safe side and arrive with it on. but just wanted to make sure with ya'll.

We didn't have to show proof of health insurance,,,just the physical exam form filled out by a physician. But I'm assuming somewhere along the line they would need the student to have health insurance for safety reasons and such....You should definitely ask about it tomorrow in that meeting. Good luck!

I was just given my CRN #'s as well.

Anybody got any news about when we can expect an add code CRN#? (I'm in the regular ADN program). Also, do we show up in uniform to regular class, as in the first day, or only when we have hospital rotations?

I hope this helps: In my computer immunization records and my yellow paper documents, my clinic has my older ones listed as DTaP....and the more recent one (which still applies to me) as Tdap. I turned in this info into the Castlebranch and it cleared thru and has listed me as done and "Compliant"....I don't think they would make an error there. and I got it all done in Dec10...I imagine if I had any error the Rio hondo counselor would have contacted me by now to let me know. Just get the Tdap.

Yes, aside from the Castlebranch account,,,,you have to turn in a packet to the Nusing dept at Rio hondo with: 1)Flu shot proof, 2)CPR card copy (in color), 3)2x2 Passport foto, 4) Fire Card copy (in color). Put it all in a manila envelope with your name, student ID, and the program and cohort you are in. Congratsssss!!!!! I was also on waitlist as well and got in.

Hey guys, so the day I got the email telling me I was an alternate,,,I emailed within the hr to confirm to continue being considered....AND I also asked if I could have my number on the list. I think the desk person hadn't gotten that memo about keeping stuff hush-hush since they did tell me the number. lol I'm #33. My guess is that they pick 40 in their alternate list. I read some threads from recent other semesters for LACC and someone mentioned being #37 and he kept going thru with the mandatory orientation trainings and eventually became #3 on the list, just shy of making it in for the semester.

LACC sent out responses today! I got an email about being on their alternate list and a friend got a phone call for a rejection.

You can wait on ordering it as they have an online order site....and the uniform lady said they would most likely ship all or most items out by December. As for cost, I just figured it would be comparable to other community colleges ADN's around the figures of $8,000. After searching online last night though I did find this http://nursingpub.com/rio-hondo-college-adn-rn-nursing-program-prerequisites-reviews/ which says $9,200. Not sure how reliable it is though.

No, I tried calling this morning and it went straight to the answering machine. I just figure the letters in the mail will tell us the #. I should hope so! I have no letter in the mail scheduled for today (based on the usps app)....dang, they're really behind, huh...

Man, this sucks. I had overlooked this. Imagine having to "truly" start this ADN program til mid-August from now! I'm gonna show up to orientation (anyway other schools require this fire safety training as well),,,,but if hypothetically Rio Hondo accepts me from the alternate list, and another school accepts me for this same spring, then I'm going for the other school.
