  1. Hey! Did you ever find out who to contact or were you able to update your application at all? I'm in the same boat with trying to update some of my certifications since I applied back in May.
  2. @Jesabvall2019 hey, I'm in the ADN program as well. I haven't received an email about the add code yet but I did notice that the syllabus was posted on the Rio Hondo bookstore so I actually went to campus this morning to buy it. I suggest everyone gets their hands on it before the first day because it contains quite a bit of information about the lecture and lab schedules as well as the modules we'll be working on. It's about $5 at the bookstore.
  3. just received my uniform. anyone else?
  4. @Chels I've only purchased the uniform so far. I keep hearing mixed opinions about buying textbooks. I know they say that we'll use them throughout the entire program but apparently those used in the first semester are not as heavily relied on as say those pertaining to med/surg, pharm, etc. They only offer you a fraction of what you bought them for when you try to sell them back. So renting may be a better option. The coursepoint is likely mandatory. I'd like to see the syllabus before I start purchasing anything because at this point we don't know if we're allowed to have tablets or computers in lecture. That will likely dictate whether I spend on the hardcopy or pdf versions of the textbooks.
  5. Has anyone who's been admitted to the program been able to get a hearing test for the physical? My doctor doesn't do them and I've emailed the school about it but they haven't responded.
  6. @Chels not yet but I plan to do so today! I was feeling a little discouraged after the meeting so I held off until I knew for sure that I was accepted.
  7. hi guys I just received an email that I was provisionally accepted into the adn program! I was on the alternate list before so I think some people might be dropping.
  8. Did anyone take a picture of the uniform forms today? I got a really blurry photograph and I’d like to know the information in case I’d like to order something extra.
  9. @coo15 Aw no I'm sorry to hear that. I wish you luck with the rest of your applications! Thank you for updating us!
  10. @coo15 congratulations! that should be a good sign! May I ask what area you live around?
  11. @hopefulfutureRN07 Hi there! I'm applying to the generic program but from what I remember there are 40 spots per application period. The nursing counselor said something about how the bridge program is separate from the generic though... I believe the bridge program spots are dependent on how many students (from last years cohort) drop out from the generic program that would've begun their 2nd year. So we're not really in competition with one another for those 40 seats.
  12. @Hiro @Quiche I emailed the nursing director who said that attending the workshop was recommended, not required. ?
  13. Hi everyone! I wasn't able to attend the last information session... is that a requirement for applying or is it open to everyone regardless of attendance?
  14. @Maga12 To my understanding Rio wants official transcripts to be sent only to admissions and records. The secretary in the nursing office also mentioned that we should only submit the application once we know for certain that all of our transcripts have been received by admissions.
  15. Hi Quiche! I applied to Glendale last month and I'm also thinking of applying to PCC and Cypress. I missed the application period for LA Harbor... getting those transcripts sent on time from my previous schools has been a bit of a pain. What about yourself?
