  1. Thank you all for your responses.I really appreciate it.
  2. Hiya all, im new here and i hope to learn a lot from everyone. Im especially looking for information about Nursing in America. Im a qualified nurse from the U.K. and am looking into moving to the U.S.A. If people can possibly help me with information about recruiting agencies or generally how to look for a job in the states id be most grateful. Thanks
  3. Where i work, the protocol is patients who are going for op are provided with paper underwear .This is quite easy to tear off if need be.
  4. It depends, if its trauma ortho then it would be quite busy because you have admissions all the time .If its elective you may have some quiet nights but then again you might be busy monitoring obs if you have several post ops.
  5. We use Morphine Pcas...in recovery room they give a loading dose of 5to10 mg of morphine and thereafter the patient can use the pca button and dose themselves at 1mg per 5 minutes. We also give paracetamol with pcas.Generally we take down the Pca's second day post op and get them on oral analgesia.Usually its tramadol 50 to 100mg or/and cocodamol30/500 1m.In elective surgery you will find some patients prefer to stick to whatever analgesia they were on before surgery. It just depends on how mush pain they are in really. By the way we also use Epidurals at mostly 5-10mls/hr however most patients prefer pcas to epidurals.
  6. Found it today through googling.Im looking for information on emigrating from the U.K. to the U.S.A.
