I did this interview last year so I am not entirely sure if the structure of it changed since then. It's a straight shot video, no breaks and you get two attempts to record. I would practice a few times (or however many times it takes for you to be comfortable). I personally think reading a script would be frowned upon. I did not read off of a script and memorized what I wanted to say and how I wanted to say it. I was accepted into the program.

Thank you for your input! ? I saw those comments as well. I've also heard experiences from multiple people I personally know in Jeff's program and they've given many instances that would deter anyone from attending the FACT 1 program. I'm just hoping to receive some sort of financial aid from Penn to help me make my choice easier!

@sp3299 I am in the same boat as you. Accepted for NNP at Penn and also accepted to Jeff's FACT 1 program. I also would like some incite since the tuition is drastically different when comparing both programs but Penn is my DREAM program.

@RN7y2950 I went to an info session at penn and I'm pretty sure FNP was not one of the specialties that would have another interview.... they mentioned one of the acute care specialties for interviews if that helps anyone ?

I'd also like to know more.... I am feeling the same way based off this comment....

@maroon2019 I'm sure they did it so they wouldn't be as overwhelmed with all of the interviews for their other programs like the MSN, DNP, etc. Probably will be around the same time but will just be more organized and less pressure for them with less to worry about.

Has anyone heard info from past students or Penn what the financial aid awards are like? Penn is SO expensive, but my dream school.... or does anyone have info in general about what students had to say about the program and what they liked about it?

@maroon2019 The video interviews are new this year to every application! They implemented the videos in this cycle of apps to eliminate having to send out video interview requests and in-person interviews (although some specialties for people that applied to BSN-MSN will be asked to do the in person interview still...they said it may only be one or maybe two specialties that still do them). So to answer your question- No, there will not be another video interview... in-person only if anything ?

@lam1130 I spoke with admissions priorly and they said you can definitely get into the BSN without getting into the MSN you chose.

Are there interviews for the NNP track? I did not receive any email about a possible interview.

@RN7y2950 Apparently, in-person interviews are slim to none (only certain faculty still require this) but according to previous posts in the old forum, people began to hear back about interviews in early to mid November.

I know this is an old forum but I was wondering if any current students in the program could share their thoughts on Penn’s BSN/MSN. It’s my top school but I’d love to know the strengths and weaknesses being a student here first-hand....i figured by asking a current student I’d get the most honest answer compared to what I’d learn from the website or an info session ?
