  1. Thank you for your help. I just sent a message to the administrator to fix the problem. Thanks again
  2. No, I do not want to continue adding any more comments, I was trying to edit some of my comments and it just keeps popping up like wild mushrooms, sorry
  3. I sincerely hope my comments would not frustrate people who maybe interested in going to UC for psychiatric mental health program. Again these are my as well as some of my colleagues opinions. It would not hurt to take one or two classes to see if you like the program or not. Who knows maybe you will have better experience than I do... ?
  4. The Ohio State University, they provide preceptors and I am an alumni of OSU as well. Unfortunately I missed the deadline for application so I ended up applying for UC ...
  5. I actually tried to apply for another school. unfortunately, I am too far out to transfer. I don’t mean to scare you, you can do it too, I am just not happy with the quality of the education that I receive from UC and I get frustrated with unclear instructions from instructors.
  6. I have completed 3 classes so far: psychopathological disorders across the lifespan, neurobiology and psychopharmacology, systems interventions for individuals and group and internship 1, I will be taking clinical psychiatric diagnostics and management of adults, clinical psychiatric diagnosis and management of children and internship II for this upcoming fall semester. You need 504 hours to graduate. In addition to the delayed response from instructors, instructions for homework assignment are confusing as well. I find myself spending more time dissecting the assignments than I have devoted to studying. The problem with online programs is that they make you do a lot of busy work to compensate for not being in class in person. They overwhelm you with so much work that you don't get to spend the time to actually learn the material. I do study very hard for all of my classes. I just want to able to pass all of my tests and be done with it. I do not feel like I learn a lot from online classes.
  7. so I am currently enrolled in the University of Cincinnati Psychiatric mental health NP Program. My classmates and I are not happy with our program. The instructors take forever to respond to our questions and the education we receive is subpar. I have completed two semesters and about to move on to the third semester. We have lost 10 students and I know one of them transferred to another due to poor quality of teaching. I bought a few additional psych books to educate myself as well. The school does not help you with preceptors. They do provide you a list of people to contact, but the list is so old that many of these people are either gone/retired or the practice is closed. If you choose to go to UC, please make sure that you start looking for preceptors. This pandemic has made it really hard to find preceptors or be prepared to pay big bucks to have someone precept you. Companies such as NP Hub charge you $12 per hour and you need 100 hours for peds, 100 hours for adults, 100 hours for geriatric and 168 hours for psychotherapy.
  8. Thanks a lot for reminding me that. I did reach out to her this morning and I will speak with her this coming Friday. Thanks again ?
  9. Hi, I know I completed all these 3p’s at a different graduate school. I hope they are transferable. I did email our success coordinator about that and hopefully I will hear back from her soon
  10. Hi MA2020, i just saw your post. I too will start at UC for post masters PMHNP in the spring of 2020. I think registration will start soon right ??
