Absolutely nothing from Douglas! I have a friend who was accepted last December for September’s class and she hasn't heard anything from Douglas either.

Congratulations to all of you who have been accepted. This is excellent news and what a way to start your weekend! I have not heard anything so I’m assuming I did not get accepted. Just a quick question though, did your profile on the UBC website change to say accepted as well? My profile still says under review.

After the nursing advisor told me 1 yr wait, I have clung to that and somewhat ignored 2.5 yrs which I have seen others indicate here on the boards. I graduated from SFU in 2018 and immediately started at Douglas in AF. I have always wanted to go into nursing but seriously considered doing a masters in Public Health. Absolutely I will let you know when I hear back from them. I just hope it’s positive for both of us and that it is no later than this week. I’ll be totally gray if it’s later than that ??

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. My fingers are crossed Winter 2021 is your class! ????? Yes 1 year! I went and had a meeting with a nursing advisor (not a general Douglas academic advisor) prior to starting the Academic Foundations. She advised me to apply the moment I completed all the pre req’s because the shortest time that she was aware of someone getting accepted was 1 yr. I have also been told that Douglas is trying to come up with ways to shorten this excruciating wait for everyone. I am not certain but I think that is why they have wording on their web page that people who have completed the Academic Foundations will be considered first. I’m not certain but it’s my guess. Hopefully they are trying additional ideas to decrease the wait. I also hope we hear soon for Winter 2021. I feel neurotic checking my email so frequently.

I also emailed admissions and received this statement back “ My goal is to have the manual review process completed by the end of April for the Winter 2021 2nd year nursing applications.” manual review process? Seems strange since everything is on the computer. Nothing has been updated in terms of my profile since I applied. I did have two friends who finished with me in the fall of 2019 who applied to the Psych program and they were sent offers with days of applying and nothing has ever been updated on their profiles. I am concerned that since I only completed in the fall of 2019 that my application was never going to be considered or reviewed since they clearly stated to Shoopedyowoop that only applications who had their pre reqs completed by Summer 2018 and earlier would be considered. If this is the case then I had no chance, nor anyone else who finished in 2019 which is annoying since the Adviser encouraged me to apply as she had seen someone get accepted within a year of finishing her pre req’s.

Just curious what ended up happening, were you accepted into the program? Hopefully you were. I applied for the Winter 2021 class and have heard absolutely nothing from them to date. I really am feeling disillusioned by these long waits to know if they will offer an acceptance or not.
