  1. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2448173832161646/?multi_permalinks=2488891501423212&notif_id=1585848186791682&notif_t=group_activity ^^ This one is for those beginning the prespecialty year in august. I'm not sure if there is one for those directly going into their specialty year
  2. Are you in the Thomas Jefferson FACT 1 allnurses thread? I was considering Jeff but comments from 2 current students in that thread made me question how good of a program it is (users were VTW2019 and HappyB if you decide to check it out). Obviously complaints from only 2 individuals can be very subjective, but they mentioned things like issues with clinical placement, classroom size/space, NCLEX test prep, and sitting for the NCLEX after graduation... all things that are pretty essential in a nursing program in you ask me. Ultimately, I hope you make the best decision for you regardless of these comments but just thought I would share!!
  3. 1. How did you ultimately choose Penn? I would love to attend this program but the cost is incredibly high, even with financial aid. Other schools like Vanderbilt and Columbia have given me offers that are significantly less costly, which is wonderful but it makes me think that is there a reason Penn is thousands more? Does the high cost translate into some advantage that I could not get at these other universities? 2. I've been accepted to the Women's Health NP specialty and am having difficulty finding any testimonials from students on this same path, so if you could pass on any knowledge you have about WHNP, that would be very helpful as well.
  4. Hey everyone congrats to all who made it to the finish line of this application process, because god knows it was not easy! Anyone else here accepted into the Pre specialty + WHNP program? And I’ve heard that the accepted students open house is Feb 29th but can anyone confirm ? I didn’t see that date in the acceptance letter but maybe I missed it. Penn’s accepted students day is Feb 28th ? . Anyone else deciding between the 2?

  6. The Vanderbilt MSN 2020 thread does NOT mess around ?
  7. Has anyone come across any blogs/youtube channels/etc. from students that have gone through this program? I have a found resources like this for other programs such as Columbia and Vanderbilt and they have been SUPER helpful for getting a realistic student perspective. I haven't been able to find anything of the sort for Penn, but I'm hoping maybe someone else has?? Or even if there is a current student in this thread who wouldn't mind answering a few questions, that would also be helpful.
  8. I think they reason they stress that the review process is holistic is because one component of your application can't automatically rule you out. I haven't met anyone that has looked back at their personal statement and didn't think they could have made some changes. I wouldn't get too worked up over it at this point. Like someone said in the UPenn group: "Find a nice beach and relax. Y'all will do great."
  9. I feel your pain!! I got accepted to a school that needs a deposit by February 11th and I don't really know what to do. So frustrating!!
  10. Penn is definitely my top choice with the next being Vanderbilt then Columbia. I think each of the programs are equally as "good" in education, faculty, resources, etc. but Penn is just closest to my family in NJ and close to the public health work I've been doing in northern Delaware. That being said, I'd be happy to be accepted to any of the programs!
  11. Let's say we do get accepted into the program (fingers crossed), does anyone know how much time they give us before we have to put down a deposit and reserve our spot? I applied to 2 other accelerated BSN programs just in case I'm not admitted into any MSN programs at these prestigious universities ( I also applied to Penn & Columbia msn/np). One of the BSN programs accepted me this week which is super exciting, but I only have until February 11th to reserve my spot for that program & I'm doubtful that we will hear back from VSN by then. Just sharing my predicament in case anyone else is in a similar position, but any info regarding the first question would be appreciated ??
  12. Awesome, thanks so much for the info. Have a happy new year! ?
  13. I know this is pretty late in the game, but can I ask how everyone is applying for financial aid? I've filled out my FAFSA but I can't find any info on Vanderbilt's website about if there are any other steps that need to be taken.
  14. Has anyone else applied to the BSN/MSN for Women's Health and Gender Related NP? I have not heard anything since October 22nd when they sent a confirmation email that my application has been received.
  15. Thank you so much for giving all of these details. It lines up with everything said at the info session, but obviously they make it sound more appealing in that setting. Do students often complain to the department about these conditions?
