  1. Did you guys get your welcome T-shirt? ?‍♀️
  2. Hi Nurse2417! I would also love some solid advice to surviving hpu. I have not even started and I am very concerned with the level of organization happening and not happening.
  3. Hey friends! How are we doing? Who is definitely going to be attending in the fall?
  4. To further back up what Nurse2417 said this is exactly what was told to a group of graduating nurses last year at my school HPU. I was shocked, to say the least. I would not be able to repay any loan on the amount a CNA makes and would probably make more money serving chili at Zippy's.
  5. Yeah, it says 2018 on there ?‍♀️ I live across the street from where the new campus is at waterfront plaza so parking isn't an issue unless I have to move. I know a lot of the servers around this area park at the ward parking garages like whole foods and the movie theater where its free parking and walk to work. So maybe something like that would be helpful for parking.
  6. I would rather go to uh as well but my TEAS was not great. Also, there would be like five more prerequisites I would need to do which I'm not really wanting to do as I already have almost 80 college credits. I started the castle medical record submissions and am doing the BLS class tomorrow afternoon. But I feel like since I am not registered I am just wasting my time.
  7. So how was the first semester of the HPU nursing program for those that attended? I'm feeling super nervous about joining this fall.
  8. Hey! I was just accepted into the fall 2020 HPU nursing program. This has been probably the worst experience of my life going to hpu and I really should not even continue to give them money. But I want to get through nursing school as fast as possible. So, HPU basically had no record of my application when I called to check on it was the first problem. Then they just said oh it's past the deadline we can submit your application for Spring. We are talking two days past the April deadline. Then in tears, I was like yeah that's not going to work for me at all. So then they tracked down my application and told me it was incomplete. But was reading 100% complete on the circle graph. You can not submit an incomplete application. After all that I was told they would consider my application for submission. It took a week and I got an acceptance letter. Yay! But not really.... I go through the motions of paying a deposit that I did not even need to pay because I am a current HPU student, then I'm trying to register for classes and the system won't let me. So I email these brain surgeons to figure out the problem. Crickets--- I get there is a pandemic but people are still working. Literally no one has been helpful. I have just been shuffled back and forth through emails and still can't register. I am so frustrated with this place.
  9. Aloha, I was using that app paid as well and I went through and answered all the questions drill style. I used a book also and Youtube. I did pretty terrible on my first attempt at the test but I was really nervous. My second attempt wasn’t much better but enough to qualify for my program. Honestly, it was the science that killed me and I’m normally really good at science. A tip for the reading, before reading that whole paragraph look at all the questions (fast) and see what information they want first that helped me not have to re read it 6 times. The math memorize the stupid shade tree question. I literally watched the Youtube for it before I went in the building. And it’s mainly fractions and ratios so If you look at the question like what? flag it and come back. The science, I mean it was pretty straightforward there was a lot of male reproductive questions on mine and it got confusing. It seemed like I was studying way harder things and some questions were so simple that I was like ummm I should know that but it’s either or... the grammar part was okay, it puts basically one of everything of the sentence structure and grammatical errors and I before e except after c, as well as misspelled words. If I had a little more time I could if done soo much better but whatever the guy told me it’s fine and what I did is enough for what I need. But for another school I’d have to step it up. Hopefully this helps. Sorry about the stupid pandemic happening good luck. ??
