In acceptance emails, they asked us to decide by 10/15/19 with acceptance or declination. However, I know people can still decline after that date and there is always a chance those who got accepted won’t get to start because they didn’t meet the requirements (vaccinations, drug test, background check, etc.) Hang in there!

So there is no separate email informing us of the point total they have calculated? Just an acceptance/rejection email?

I was under that impression too based off what others have said in previous threads. It is never specifically mentioned in the application info packet though...at least not that I remember seeing. I would assume they would inform us of our official point total and GPA so we can make sure everything was calculated correctly but I’m not sure.

I’ve prepared myself to wait until the last week of October before I hear. Work, A&P II and Chem are doing a fantastic job at keeping me busy and distracted in the meantime. ?

@VanessaE I have heard fall is more competitive than spring. And I think 17 is a pretty solid number for either semester. Fingers crossed for both of us!! Good luck!

@LaJKer This happened to me too! I have academic forgiveness, so my OCCC GPA has me way higher than what CAS calculated. I found someone on here on a previous thread who had the same happened to her and she said that OCCC took their own GPA, not the CAS GPA. If anything, when they calculate your points and give you that number, I’m told you can dispute it if you think it’s wrong. So if for some reason we both lose a point for GPA, we should know and be able to say something.

@Ariel Wigington I heard the thing about a 12 being accepted once as well. ? I have high hopes for all of us! Just wish we could find out like...now.

@Ariel Wigington @carla-W Have either of you ever heard of anyone being waitlisted at 16 or 17 points? I looked on these forums and I haven't, which gives me hope! I'm sure it's possible depending on the applicant pool, but I just didn't know if anyone had heard of it before.

@kristamd or wait...are there people who don’t get waitlisted and just get flat out rejection letters? I never considered that. Surely they wouldn’t waitlist an astronomical amount of people?

@kristamd good to know! Hopefully we get those letters sooner rather than later. So if you were waitlisted with 14 points 2 times, I feel pretty decent about 17 and I’d bet that 16 is a solid number too! Good luck to you this time! Hopefully we’ll be classmates!

Mine had a verified status very quickly as well, but on my actual application (in the submitted tab, if you click into it where you can see all the pages of your app) my coursework was still “unverified” if that makes sense. It’s all been verified now though, so no worries. I applied with 17 points. It’s my first time applying anywhere and I only applied to this school, so I’m really crossing my fingers I get in. I have to do Spring because I work full time and a Fall start with daytime classes just isn’t an option for me. @carla-W I thought the wait was 6-8 weeks to hear about acceptance?

Perfect! I guess I would have caught it when they emailed me with my point total. It’s a relief to hear from someone else who has forgiveness though. Thanks!

I know this thread is old but I have academic forgiveness on my transcript as well. I see where NursingCAS calculated my GPA for me without taking my forgiveness into account. I also know what my GPA is with forgiveness and I entered that one in the “additional questions” section on the application. Jcmpilch, did the CAS calculated GPA hurt you at all? If they use that, I get no points. If they use my GPA that reflects forgiveness, I get points so it’s kind of stressing me out.

I submitted my application and it's been verified already. I submitted it on 8/23 and I was worried it wouldn't be verified in time since OCCC says to allow 4-6 weeks. How many points did you guys apply with?
