Background check
Hey! So yes, I did get my license. Are you absolutely sure your charge was expunged? I thought mine was, but it was just deferred. A deferred charge MUST be reported to your state boards (where your application asks about criminal charges), and also reported to your employer. Anyone can still see deferred charges. Expunged charges do not need to be reported. But make sure you are absolutely correct that your charges were expunged, because if you don’t self report your charge, the state can hold your license for dishonesty. I didn’t report because I didn’t think I had to and I had to practically beg and apologize profusely to get my license. So, to summarize: Report all deferred charges. You do not have to report expunged. They do give licenses to people with a petty theft charge.

BON - Pending Case Review?
Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all of your help. It was your suggestions which helped me understand why my license was being held up. If you have a criminal conviction, do not say you do not ?♀️ Expungement must be reported to the board of nursing. I did not realize this (this is actually a common error). It’s been sorted out thankfully, but it was a nerve wracking week.

I believe it took me about an hour and 20minutes? I’m not sure. It stopped at 75 questions, and that was what I was worried about.

No I haven’t. I contacted my DON from school who took a look at my case and informed me this is a pretty common message that happens frequently and I should have an answer about my case here soon.

Background check
Did you ever get an answer for your question? I too am wondering about this. I have a petty theft misdemeanor from 5 years old. I graduated in July, took my NCLEX and passed a week ago and now my state boards are showing “pending case review”. Everyone else is receiving their license numbers.

Hello. I am probably being a little melodramatic here, but please bare with me ? I took my NCLEX last Wednesday, so 5 days ago. I can not afford to look at my quick results (yes, I am broke broke), but I did the Pearson Vue Trick and received the good pop-up... 3 times. So now I have been checking my Board of Nursing to see if they have activated my license. They have not. I did notice something new though, my case went from showing "Pending" to showing "Pending Case Review". My question is, what does "pending case review" mean? Is it as simple as they are finalizing my NCLEX results to get my license number? Or has something bad happened and they have to look deeper into my case? Like did my computer say pass, but they are taking a closer look at it because I didn't pass high enough? Is it common for a case to change from pending to pending case review? Perhaps I am just freaking out over nothing. I'm going crazy waiting for my results. Your answers are greatly appreciated. - BON - Pending Case Review?
