  3. Congratulations! What unit and hospital?
  4. In the Stockbridge location, and thank you! ?
  5. Hey guys, I happened to pass by your post and decided to share my experience with the hiring process... I applied to the residency for the spring term in September for the Fayette & Stockbridge locations & received an email from the recruiters to set up a phone interview. During the phone interviews they only asked about my expected graduation date, prior experience, precepting location, and the units I was interested in (I precepted in the General Pediatric Floor at the Children's Hospital in Macon) The top unit I was seeking for was the NICU, followed by L&D, & Mother/baby At the time there was only a NICU position at the Fayette location, so I scheduled an interview there. During the interview I was asked about my experience (4 yrs dental assisting & a summer nurse externship in the ER at Wellstar) and asked more behavioral questions like how would you resolve a conflict, or how would you deal with the family, etc. After about a week, I followed up with the recruiter and was informed I did not get the position, and decided to go ahead and interview for a L&D position & Med Surg position at Stockbridge. Im not going to lie, I was really discouraged after the NICU position was filled, and honestly did not have many hopes for the L&D position. I interviewed with the Med Surg positions 1st. It was a panel interview with all 8 floor nurse managers for the hospital. They did ask about medical situation questions like, what kind of things would I see in a cardiac vs a surgical floor, etc. It was intimidating, but they were all very nice. They mentioned that for the med surg floors the grad program had a rotation in the ER to help with IV training. An hour after the interview was completed, I received a call from the recruiter that I had been offered 6 positions, and to let her know if I was interested in any of the positions. The next day I had the L&D interview. I went in not feeling very hopeful, but still gave it my all. Like the NICU, I was really only asked behavioral questions, and they really did dive into my head dental assistant position. They asked how did I deal with pts, other peers, etc. Once the interview was over, the director stated that she still had other interviews lined up and they would keep in touch. About a week passed, and I decided to email the recruiter to see if the L&D position was filled, before I pick a Med surg unit, and to my surprise, she said she was just about to contact me to offer me the job! I accepted the L&D night shift position, base pay offered to me was $27.50, but it turns to $31.50 with night shift differential, plus another $3.00 during the weekend shifts After accepting the offer, you will get emails about submitting referrals though an online service, background check info, etc. I just took & passed my NCLEX on the 11th, and had the employee health checkup on the 13th. Now I am anxiously waiting for my 1st day (orientation) this upcoming Monday the 24th... I can not believe I am finally a RN and got the position I wanted! So nervous lol
  6. For what I have seen, it seems that specialty floors start at $27.50
  7. @tikiplum21 at Piedmont henry?
  8. I will be at Piedmont Henry in the L&D unit, how about you? I think pay varies, I got offered 27.50 base while my peer got offered $29.50 bc she had some experience.
  9. I don’t remember the exact times the shift change, but for me they told me $27.50 base pay for day shift (I think till 5) then, $3.00, then $4.00 extra for night shift 7pm-7am then $3.00 extra on the weekend stacked to that ...
  10. I think I have seen on other posts that CHOA has contacted some people... Northside Im not sure
  11. Thats awesome that you got offered a position at the NICU, at which hospital may I ask?
  12. Which Piedmont are you applying for?
  13. Thats awesome to hear @mswain! I too have my phone interview next Tuesday for Piedmont. The nurse recruiter for Piedmont, Mrs. Braswell, is mom to one of my classmate, so she already spoke to her mom about me, so that makes me feel alittle less nervous about the process. I heard Grady interviews are in Oct. and the Wellstar Expo is on Oct 5th, thats where almost all the interviews will take place... havnt heard from CHOA. Emory unfortunately only takes BSN
  14. Hey, the phone interview wasn’t even an interview, she just confirmed my information and told me to RSVP to an hiring expo in OCT, thats where the interviews will take place. Took like 5 minutes. ?
  15. Hey guys, I just received an email from Wellstar, and will receive a phone interview from them tomorrow. I also received an email from Grady with a questionnaire to turn in by the 23rd. Nothing yet from CHOA
