ATL Summer 2022 Residency
Hey Guys! Graduate in May (I mean if I don't bomb these last few tests or whatever LOL) from the ADN program at Georgia State. Finally had some time to get my resume together and went on a rampage applying to all the residency programs. Mostly stuck to the ones that did a presentation in our career day. Piedmont, Emory Decatur, Grady, and a few of the Northside hospital locations. Only place I've heard back from though is Piedmont Rockdale for an interview. Has anyone heard from any of the other hospitals for interviews or offers? I know a lot of people have applied in my cohort but it seems like they aren't calling us back very quickly.

Georgia State Perimeter ASN- Fall2020 Applicants
LOL I hope so @Kelz. The lack of communication makes me a bit nervous, but I guess I’m being paranoid about it. Plus I tried the registering for NURS 1921 early thing and it had a cohort restriction and wouldn’t let me register for it. I don’t know if that’s due to my major being Gen Ed right now or what.

Georgia State Perimeter ASN- Fall2020 Applicants
Hey everyone! So due to moving In the middle of everything going on (great timing in the middle of a pandemic), I actually didn't find out I got accepted till yesterday. Turns out my acceptance letter was just sitting at my parents house! I didn’t expect any letters to come so soon with the pandemic going on. I was able to email Ms. ***** and told her I was accepting my spot, as well as update her with my new address. She hasn’t replied though after asking for my updated address, so I hope accepting that way is cool. I’m thinking about mailing the confirmation letter regardless just so it’s postmarked by the 10th which was the deadline in the original letter. This is my second attempt. I applied for Spring 2020 semester and didn’t get in. Retook a class and here we are! I’m pretty excited!

Georgia State Perimeter College Spring 2020
No new or good news over this way. I did email Ms. Creel today regarding if she could give me any recommendations or insight in how to improve my application for fall. She just advised me to finish my humanities class to replace an older one. Which.....is the exact class I’m taking this semester. She said i didn’t need to retake the TEAS. Other than that she didn’t have any recommendations. So being as I’ve finished all the pre-reqs....I’m not entirely sure what to do and the email wasn’t entirely helpful. I’m reapplying too all the ADN/BSN nursing schools I meet requirements for in the area. But they all have slightly different requirements or require volunteer hours or entrance exams which makes it hard to choose just one to focus on. So it’s hard for me not to feel like I’m starting way back at square one all over again.

Georgia State Perimeter College Spring 2020
Hey everyone! I applied myself last night for Spring of 2020. Graduated High school in 2003 and college with my first degree in 2007. I’ve wanted to be a nurse probably since then, but life always gets in the way. But I’ve been doing really well in classes since coming back in 2017 so I decided to just go for it. It’s weird because I remember coming to these forums and reading stories about people applying for nursing school back then and finally here I am applying myself. Overall I'm a bit fuzzy on my stats. I was told by Ms. Creel that any of the pre req classes that I took back on 2003 and again in 2010 that I didn’t do so well in would be calculated into my GPA for consideration. Science GPA: 3.5 Overall GPA: Who Even knows because Ms. Creel came back with one totally different than what’s on PAWS with grades factored in from 2003. TEAS: 89.3 taken 7/23/19 So I’m hoping my TEAS score and the Science GPA makes me competitive. I’m nervous but excited at the same time. One thing I was wondering is.... Is there any sort of online portal where we can check our status or is it just relying on regular letters through mail?
