APU LVN-BSN Program Fall 2019
Guri, I would ask the program director. I mean we can only speculate that grades would improve your chances. Or maybe the phone interview wasnt great. Either way only the program directors would really be able to give you the best answer. You can definitely try to apply again and to an LVN to RN program at a JC for a back up.

APU LVN-BSN Program Fall 2019
honestly, the program seems a bit unorganized. Ive had a hard time getting ahold of them either via phone or email. I found out yesterday that no ones passed the nutrition at all, and less than half passed the pharm. And at $100 a test, Im starting to think APU is more about profit then its "religious" base.

Being Gay and a Male Nursing Student
Currently a nursing student. My clinical instructor was a gay male. Apparently Gay males have more of an option to work in PEDS/OB. I expressed my interest in the unit, and he said he'd never seen a straight male there. The female nurses kinda agreed, and they all seemed to get along with him. I figured he was gay because he was flamboyant, but he also mentioned his partner to the other nurses.

Short male nurses
At 5'7, I do get asked to help with PT's but, when I say "ask" it means they watch while I do. I figured that out a week into work, so I put a stop to that. I never handle a PT alone now. If "asked" for assistance, I also grab another person to help, CNA, LVN whoever. Never had back problems before this job before. So now ppl know Im not there for manual labor.

Does dating get easier as a male nurse in his 30s?
Anyone every date a patient, or family of a patient??? I mean obviously youd have to wait till discharge, and she probably cant be your direct PT, but she could just be a PT on the floor right?

Is Shortage in Nursing really a hoax?
I call BS on the shortage. During a rotation the charge nurse showed me a formula that determines how many nurses are assigned per floor. If you have a full staff but no patients, some nurses get sent home or to another floor to float. But usually they just get sent home. Are nurses overworked? of course, but that will always be the case, as running a medical facility is all about the money, and saving money where possible. If a nurse can be sent home, and that nurse's workload can be safely distributed to the other nurses, thats whatll happen

Maybe Clinicals instructor doesn't like men
I had this issue with my community college in Rancho Cucamonga. Just keep your head down. Do whats asked, and refrain from answering/asking questions, lest you be scolded. Thats my experience at least.

Any info? APU IE campus Fall 2019
Hello everyone, Looks like I may be attending APU's LVN to BSN program this fall 2019. Does anyone have any info on this program? IE, the Drop rate? How "religious" it is? Are we talking about no saying bad words, cant say the lords name in vain, will have it out for you if you arent a believer type religious? This is a very expensive school, and Id like to know if it is worth the money, as opposed to other programs. Id hate to get into the program to find out that the instructors have it out for students, or that its not worth the tuition. My last experience with a nursing program with at a community college in Rancho Cucamonga, CA in which it seemed like the one goal teachers had was to put you down and get you to drop out. Any info would be great. thanks.
